Lates, no-shows plague WSOP 2008 Day 19

Phil Hellmuth and John Phan are wading through the afternoon chaos in the Rio on this fine Tuesday at the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas.
Event 29
The start of the final table in the $3k No-Limit Hold'em event had to be delayed as John Phan was late. He was actually playing in another event and thought the start time was supposed to be at 3 p.m., not 2 p.m.
It could be the first time a Guatemalan wins a bracelet, although Sebastian Segovia will have a lot of work to do from the short stack.
David Singer started strong and reclaimed some of the pot he lost late last night. Tony Dunst led with a $40,000 bet that Singer called before the flop. With 6

coming on the flop, Singer made a small raise from the button, which prompted Dunst to muck.
Event 30
The $10k World Championship Limit Hold'em is down to the final table. Play begins at 3 p.m. (not 2 p.m. as previously reported) and a champion will be crowned sometime later tonight.

Event 31
Although he's among the chip leaders, Scotty Nguyen has yet to show and Day 2 of the $2,500 No-Limit Six-Handed event is well under way. They'll attempt to play down to a final table by late tonight with or without you, baby.
Event 32
The latest World Series of Poker $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em event also kicked off the latest in WSOP registration issues. Players were still trying to register well after the start of the event and there is apparently a good deal of confusion running around the Rio as officials try to deal with more than 2,100 entries.
The WSOP has had several significant issues with registration in the last few years but has made a dramatic improvement thus far this year. This is the first such incident reported and is likely due to the enormous number of players.
All players were put on an extended break starting at 1 p.m. while the poker peeps at the Rio took about 30 minutes to sort things out.
Action Bobby: In it to win it.
Players of note who are registered and playing in the event include Men "The Master" Nguyen, Jean-Robert Bellande, Allen Cunningham, Theo Tran, Michael Mizrachi, Phil Hellmuth, Josh Arieh and Beth Shak.
Both Mizrachi and Hellmuth doubled up early courtesy of sets on the flop, Mizrachi with threes and Helmuth with eights. Mizrachi was eliminated shortly afterward when his A-Q ran into Kyle Remissong's A-K.
The same event last year was won by David Stucke. He beat down 2,314 other opponents to take the $603,069 first-place purse.
Event 33The $5k World Championship Seven-Card Stud Hi-Lo Split Eight-or-Better also starts today. Beginning at 5 p.m., the Stud Hi-Lo event will bring plenty of big names out to the felt. Last year's champ Eli Elezra waxed a field of 235 to rake in $198,984 and more importantly his first-ever WSOP bracelet. Who is it gonna be this year?
