Everest Poker offering poker dream

Mount Everest

For many people who make a deposit into an online poker room, even if it's just for entertainment purposes, there's a daydream in the back of their mind that maybe they could turn that into big money or a career as a poker player.

Everest Poker is increasing that chance for its players with its "Live the Dream" promotion that will see 10 players get a shot at playing like a pro for the next year.

To qualify, players can participate in daily online satellites that are running now through March 10 that will get them entry into the Direct Entry Tournaments running every Monday through March 10, except on Dec. 24 and 31.

The daily satellites cost $11+$1, $5+50¢ or 25 Summit Points. The Direct Entry Tournaments have a $100+$9 direct buy-in, and the top 10 finishers each week will qualify for the casting call in March to determine the winners chosen to represent the site for the next year.

The top finishers in the events will also win cash from prize pools.

Another way to get to the casting call is through the Summit Points Leaderboard. The top five players who earn the most Summit Points in each of November, December, January and February will qualify for the casting call.

In all, 200 finalists will make it to the casting call. There they will be judged on their online poker skill, live poker skill, personality, Everest Poker brand knowledge, blogging skills and speaking skills.

The candidates will also have the opportunity to create their own Live the Dream Web page and post video and text for the public to make comments and vote on.

"Unlike other poker rooms that choose only rich and famous pros to represent them, we want our spokespeople to come directly from the heart and soul of the poker community: you," said Everest Poker in a press release.

"You've helped Everest Poker become one of the world's leading poker rooms, and now it's time for us to give back to the community by letting you live your dream."

The dream prize package includes:

  • European Poker Tour Season 4 Grand Final seat ($13,000 buy-in)
  • World Series of Poker Main Event ($10,000 buy-in)
  • Two World Series of Poker side events (two $2,500 buy-ins)
  • Two World Poker Tour Season 7 events (two $15,000 buy-ins)
  • Two European Poker Tour Season 5 events (two $10,500 buy-ins)
  • $21,000 in cash for expenses
