Daily 3-Bet: EPT Barnburner, Vegreanu Titanic, CSI: Poker
The PokerListings Daily 3-Bet is a gluten-free muffin, a soy chai latte and a creeping urge to eat a whole bag of afternoon poker news Oreos.
Got a tip for a future 3-Bet? Drop us a note in the comments and we'll take a look.
Today in the 3-Bet we find the EPT Grand Final careening to an epic finish, Daniel Negreanu joins with James Cameron and CSI: Cyber gets fast-and-loose with online poker.
1) Perfect Storm Brews in Monaco
The 2015 PokerStars and Monte-Carlo® Casino EPT Grand Final Main Event is down to its final 34 players and what a list of players it is.
Just a few of the names left as Day 3 play ended today in Monaco:
There are more, including Christopher Frank, Ludo Geilich and Adrian Mateos. Chip leader is another of the amazing Polish young guns, Jose Carlos Garcia.
Needless to say it'll be a barnburner of a playdown to the final table tomorrow and Thursday. Watch the replay of the amazing feature-table action from today right here and tune in tomorrow for more of the same.
2) Negreanu Teams with James Cameron
Daniel Negreanu's vegan diet is a well-known entity in the poker world and, truth be told, he's won over more than his fair share of converts thanks to his persistent belief in its benefits.
His phenomenal poker results over the last couple of years haven't hurt his case, either.
While the correlation between a vegan diet and great poker results might not be exactly a straight line Negreanu does tell Vice Munchies in a new post that he thinks it makes him a better poker player.
Interestingly, he also reveals he's working with James Cameron "on a documentary to dispel the 'real men eat meat' myth."
A Vegreanu Titanic, perhaps. As always Daniel has lots of useful advice both poker and non-poker related. Take a read here.
3) CSI: Cyber Going After "Haven for Criminals"
Uh oh. Here we go again with the "online gaming is all about money laundering" stuff.
Let's hope online poker is at least portrayed a little better than it was in Runner, Runner.
At least we can definitively say online "gambling" doesn't cause addiction, right?
