CEO Poker Tour kicks off at Venetian in Vegas

If you didn't think Las Vegas could possibly handle any more poker what with the World Series of Poker plus tournaments at Bellagio, Binion's and more going on, you were mistaken. The CEO Poker Tour also got started this week at the Venetian Resort Hotel and Casino.
"The first day of the CEO Poker event was a huge success," said William Peraza Jr., CEO Poker Tour CEO. "We knew that we had the right combination, a great hotel, a unique tournament and players that appreciate the game and networking."
The first event saw 342 players heading to the Venetian Monday for the $550 buy-in tournament, creating a $155,610 prize pool. The field included executives from all over the world including New Zealand, Africa, the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia and more.
The winner was Martin El Kher from Denmark, who will go home $48,238 richer.

You don't have to be an executive to participate, but the tournament gives people a chance to network with other companies as well as play poker for cash, trophies and gold bracelets. Participants also get their choice of a complimentary CEO Poker Tour hat or T-shirt.
