Caesars adds series to poker calendar
By Sarah Polson
There's never a dull moment on the poker circuit. Well, there was one, but then Caesars Palace in Las Vegas decided to fill it in with a tournament series of its own.
The Caesars Palace Classic will start Oct. 12 with a $550 No-Limit Hold'em event and continue with events running through Oct. 24. The $10,000 main event will play Oct. 22-24, just after the World Poker Tour Spanish Championship wraps up and before the WPT North American Championship begins.
Registration for all 13 events of the Caesars Palace Classic begins Oct. 11. Single-table satellites will also run every day from 9 a.m. to 2 a.m. for all the events during the series.
The tournament schedule is:
| Date | Event | Buy-in |
| Oct. 12 | Event 1 No-Limit Hold'em | $550 |
| Oct. 13 | Event 2 No-Limit Hold'em | $1,060 |
| Oct. 14 | Event 3 No-Limit Hold'em | $1,570 |
| Oct. 15 | Event 4 No-Limit Hold'em | $550 |
| Oct. 16 | Event 5 No-Limit Hold'em | $1,060 |
| Oct. 17 | Event 6 Limit Hold'em | $1,060 |
| Oct. 18 | Event 7 No-Limit Hold'em | $550 |
| Oct. 18 | Event 8 Omaha Eight-or-Better | $1,060 |
| Oct. 19 | Event 9 No-Limit Hold'em | $1,570 |
| Oct. 20 | Event 10 No-Limit Hold'em | $2,080 |
| Oct. 20 | Event 11 Pot-Limit Omaha Eight | $550 |
| Oct. 21 | Event 12 Ladies No-Limit Hold'em | $340 |
| Oct. 22-24 | Event 13 Championship Event | $10,000 |
As usual, PokerListings.com will also be on the scene to provide you with live coverage of the main event. Caesars won't know what hit it as the one-man wrecking crew, Owen Laukkanen, keeps the world tuned in with his reports in the Live Tournaments Section.
