The Isildur1 Swing Graph

One of the most spectacular robusto-to-busto high-stakes runs I’ve ever seen has to be the unknown player Isildur1 who won and lost $5 million in less than one month.

The graph above gives you a general idea of who was responsible for the various swings of Isildur1’s brief time in the internet poker spotlight.

This graph shouldn’t be taken too seriously, as it’s impossible to make a graph of this sort with a high percentage of accuracy.

The problem is that all of the players included in this chart rarely play just one opponent per day.

In a situation where Isildur1 won $1 million off of Tom Dwan, but lost $1 million to Brian Townsend, the graph will appear flat (since this graph is based purely on daily results).

Or in a situation where Isildur1 beat Antonius out of $1 million, but Antonius won $1 million off of Sahamies, it will appear as if Isildur1 beat Sahamies when looking back at the daily results.

This graph is to give you a general idea of who Isildur1 played, when they played, and how well they ended up against him in the long run.

Here are the real results versus Isildur1, as they stand at the time of publication:

I was down because I took a $400 initial deposit on Poker Stars, turned it into $785 in 4 hours at $1 - $2 Holdem, and 2 days later busted out. It feels good to know that even a pro has up and down swings that extreme.
