Betfair launches weekly $100k guaranteed

The pots are getting even bigger at Betfair Poker. The site has added a new $100,000 guaranteed Sunday night tournament that will boost the monthly guarantees up to $4 million.

"We already have some of the biggest cash games available on the Internet, and we want to be able to offer our customers regular higher value and larger buy-in tournaments," said Bruce Stubbs, Betfair's director of poker.

The new $100k guaranteed tournament will be a $555 buy-in, deep-stack tournament. The inaugural tournament will take place Sunday at 6:30 p.m. and play each week on that day and time.

"We are also offering a good range of qualifiers for the $100k, including freerolls, to ensure that everyone on Betfair Poker has a chance of playing," Stubbs said.

Qualifiers have already begun, and there are several ways for players to win their way into the $100K guaranteed event.

Daily Freerolls

Three daily freerolls will run Mondays through Fridays at noon, 4 p.m. and 9 p.m. The top nine players from each daily freeroll will move on to a weekly $1,850 freeroll where they will play for three seats in the weekly guaranteed tournament plus $200 of added cash.

The weekly freeroll final will take place each Saturday at 6 p.m.

Satellites

Daily $5.50 satellites are running throughout the day feeding into the same-day $55 satellites that will get players into the $100k weekly guaranteed tournament. On Sundays the $5.50 satellite will have a re-buy format.

The $55 satellites play at 5:10 p.m. and 10:10 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 2:10 p.m. on Sundays.

Along with the $55 satellites, there are other satellites that will feed directly into the $100k weekly event. They are:

• $20+$2 Rapid Re-buy at 8:10 p.m. Monday through Friday, one seat guaranteed
• $25+$2.50 Super Turbo at 11:50 p.m. Monday through Friday, one seat guaranteed
• $20+$2 Rapid Re-buy at 1:10 p.m. Sundays, one seat guaranteed
• Last Chance $25+$2.50 Super Turbo at 2: 40 p.m. and 4:10 p.m. Sundays, double seats guaranteed
• $20+2 Bullet at 5:10 p.m. Sunday, one seat guaranteed.
