888poker Gets Nod as Poker Operator of the Year

888poker was awarded 2011 Poker Operator of the Year at the eGaming Review awards ceremony in London last week.

It’s been a big year for 888poker with a major software redesign and new exclusive features such as webcam tournaments, team tournaments, 3D graphics and private user-created games.

Customers seem to have responded in a big way as 888poker reportedly had an increase of 122% in liquidity of active players over the year.

"Winning the EGR Poker Operator of the Year is a great honor and reflection of a phenomenal year for 888poker,” said an 888poker representative.

“We are committed to continuously enhance the playability at 888poker in order to give our consumers a poker offering that meets their needs, that's intuitive, simple and stands out from the crowd."

Recent winners of the EGR Poker Operator of the Year include PKR in 2010 and bwin Poker in 2009.

In addition to claiming Poker Operator of the Year, 888 was shortlisted for several awards including Affiliate Programme of the Year, Casino Operator of the Year, Innovation in Gaming, Marketing Campaign of the Year and Operator of the Year.

It’s not the first time 888 has earned accolades from the online poker industry. Leisure Reports, Egaming and the Gambling Online Magazine have all highlighted the company at various times.

Founded in 1997, 888 has been involved in the online gambling industry for more than a decade and is now offered in 176 countries worldwide. The company is licensed and regulated by the government of Gibraltar and is listed on the London Stock Exchange.
