Swedish Victory at the Opening Event of the Festival Series Online
The first really big tournament of the Festival Series Online powered by 888poker has ended last night. For a buy-in of $109, the tournament offered a $100,000 guarantee and the Swedish player Angelegot secured first place and over $14,600 in prize money after a deal between the final two players.
The Festival Opening Event Goes to Sweden
With a $100,000 guarantee, The Festival Online's two-day opening event was by far the biggest tournament of the series last Sunday. The final table was played Monday night and the whole final could be watched live on the Twitch channel of 888poker with David Tuchman and Nick Wealthall commenting. After a little under two hours, the Swedish player Angelelot prevailed in the heads-up against his British opponent DarioPourzan.

With exactly 1,000 entries, the Opening Event hit the $100,000 guarantee. On Sunday the tournament was stopped after the final nine players were found and they returned Monday night to play out the first big title of The Festival Online.
The final table was an intense battle and after the Brazilian DantonGomes was eliminated in 3rd place, only two players remained: Sweden's Angelegot and DarioPourzan from the United Kingdom. Both quickly agreed on a deal that left a little over $2,000 on the table to play for. DarioPourzan began the heads-up with slightly more chips. However, after a massive all-in before the flop, Angelegot was able to double up with JJ against A-9.
After that hand, DarioPourzan was left with less than two big blinds which he managed to double several times. But he ended up losing all his chips in a slightly unlucky way when he was all-in preflop with A-Q against J-5 and Angelegot hit a 5 on the flop. This is the final hand of the tournament:

The Opening High Roller ended on Sunday and this tournament had a significantly higher buy-in and was completed in just under seven hours. Without a deal, TrustMeBRO managed to win this tournament while NL_sport from Lithuania came in second. Incidentally, the bubble boy in this tournament was 888 brand ambassador Dominik "888Dominik" Nitsche.
