Festival Main Event Down from 893 to Nine in Battle for $35k Prize

Festival Main Event Down from 893 to Nine in Battle for $35k Prize

As the Festival winds down from a whirlwind online series, we are left with just 9 online poker battlers from almost 900, who stand alone in the fight for the Festival's Online main event. We have seen some fantastic events in this series, ranging from low-stakes spin-ups in the Mystery Bounties and Super KOs to the High Rollers, where the best of the best duked it out.

In the end, there can only be one Festival Main Event Champion - that will be concluded tonight. Read below to find out how we came to the final table and how you can watch the final phase action with hole card coverage.

Mystery Bounty Bonuses for “dalgas19” and “Sicran92” in Closing Festival Online events

In the $8,000 Mystery Bounty event, “dalgas19” fell short in 64th out of 1,059 runners - a good run but only good enough for $10.86. Or so they thought until they opened their mystery bounty and finished on $804.59 in bounties, a healthy boost to their bankroll despite falling way short of 1st.

The $22 buy-in saw an equally massive amount of runners, with 1,099 entrants involved in the $25,000 Mini Mystery Bounty Closing event. Brazil’s “milico92” came on top, scooping a huge $3,243.96 for finishing on top of the mountain. Someone who didn’t finish on top would scoop the biggest reward, however, as “Sicran92” would get booted out in 86th but win a massive $2,513.32 in bounties thanks to their virtual bounty prize.

High-stakes MTT crusher “perrymejsen” would be heavily involved in the Festival Online endgame, as they final tabled and came within whiskers of winning the Festival High Roller PKO Closing event. The $40,000 guaranteed tournament was scooped by “AUTISPOSTI” who bagged $12,.292.37 for taking down the final high roller of the series.

Festival Online Finale with $200,000 Main Event Down to Nine

The Festival Online Main Event would see multiple well-known poker faces get into the mix in Day 2, including 888poker ambassador Vivian “Vivi.888” Saliba, World Series of Poker 2021 Main Event third-place finisher Jack “jackaoliver” Oliver, Jerry “perrymejsen” Odeen and Festival Online Champion “zavero4ik”.

In the end, just Vivian Saliba and Odeen would find deep runs into the money, while the rest were forced to lick their wounds, having done well to make it to Day 2 but falling short of the green.

Saliba would bow out in 50th for $780, while Jerry “perrymejsen” Odeen would build on his High Roller final table with a 13th place finish for $1,760. If the Finish high-stakes MTT crusher made it to the final 9, you would have put your money on him being a frontrunner to taking it down.

Watch The Festival Online Main Event Final Nine Live!

You can tune in to 888poker’s Twitch channel to watch live hole card action of the final table for the $200,000 Main Event.

Latvia’s hero “latvianhero1” sits numero uno with 2.3m in chips, but the race of the top three is close; “Artur1965” has 2.2m in chips, and “getoverhere” has 2m, putting some awkward ICM implications going into the 20/40k blind levels.

The victor will get a whopping $34,599.99 for their troubles, and the 9th spot gets $3,040 - this shows how swingy this final table could be, a poker bankroll make-or-break spot for some of these players.
