What Did The Kings Of Tallinn 2023 Teach Us?

Kings Of Tallinn 2023 offered players a well-rounded selection of poker action. The schedule was dominated by NLHE and PLO tournaments, and on top of these, the event hosted two Mixed Games tournaments – €350 Sviten Special (aka Drawmaha) and €350 8-Game. Other poker tournaments were – €250 2-7 Triple Draw, €120 Finnish 5 Card Stud Pot-Limit, and €350 Open-Face Chinese Pineapple

In a total of 53 tournaments, the number of players varied between 24 and 481, with most tournaments averaging around 150 players. Players came to play, which resulted in crazy numbers of re-entries in quite a few tournaments.

€550 – €3,000 Buy-in “Main Events”, €50 – €300 Buy-in Side Events

Buy-in levels from €150 to €350 offered lots of action throughout the event, and as a cherry on top, the official and the “unofficial main events” were:

  • €1,100 Main Event
  • €3,000 High Roller
  • €550 No-Limit Hold’em Championship
  • €1,100 Pot-Limit Omaha Championship.

Out of the 53 tournaments, Finnish players managed to win 16, which tells us a little something about just how popular Kings Of Tallinn is over there.

Surprisingly, one tournament they did not win, however, was the €125 Finnish Five Card Stud Pot Limit aka Sökö. US player Timothy Dallas managed to beat the Finns at their “own game” and bagged €2.800 for his efforts.

In most of the KoT 2023 tournaments the prize pools ranged between about €8000 and €20,000. However, the schedule also offered tournaments with over €50K and €200K prize pools. The grandest prize pool, was the €500,000 GTD Kings Of Tallinn Main Event. In other “unofficial main events” the prize pools were:

  • €3,000 High Roller – €218,456
  • €1,100 Pot-Limit Omaha Championship: €69,560
  • €550 No-Limit Hold’em Championship – €262,730

Good Bounties & Deepstacks

The Kings Of Tallinn 2023 event featured a total of eight Bounty tournaments, two of which were played in the popular Mystery Bounty format.

The €150 GGPoker Flip&Go Mystery Bounty attracted 306 players, raising the final prize pool to over €18,000. When all the mysteries had unfolded, Keimo Suominen from Finland emerged on top and was awarded €4,130.

The biggest winner, however, was Rainno Sootla, who, even though he ended up in 4th place, bagged the most money! This was thanks to the €5,000 Top Mystery Bounty and three other bounties he collected, bringing his total winnings from this tournament to €8,700.

Kings Of Tallinn Deepstack tournaments were also highly popular. The first, €350 Deep Stack Kings Of Tallinn 2023 Opening Event, saw 181 participants, raising its total prize pool to €61,589. Another Deepstack tournament in the schedule was #37, the €350 Deep Stack, which saw 207 players battling it out for a total prize pool of €50,872. Kings Of Tallinn Deepstacks had some of the best Buy-in / GTD ratios during the event.

What To Expect From The Kings Of Tallinn 2024?

Next February, the biggest live poker event in Northern Europe, the Kings Of Tallinn 2024, will gather players from around the world to play poker in the luxurious Hilton Tallinn Olympic Park Casino. Considering the popularity of the last event and the Summer Showdown, one could argue that we are witnessing a new poker boom that is about to go into high gear in Europe.

Award-winning live poker event guru and tournament director Teresa Nousiainen, who is also all over the Kings Of Tallinn 2024, is known for her player-oriented style. Every time a new event is planned, the wishes and feedback from the players are always part of the equation.

As Kings Of Tallinn 2024 approaches, Olybet is yet to publish the official dates for this event. However, we know it will be held in February, most likely at the end of the month.

This being said, some info is already out there, and when we consider what the Kings Of Tallinn 2023 taught us, we can say something about what to expect from Kings Of Tallinn 2024.

Prize Pools Get Bigger, But So Does The Buy-ins!

According to our intel, Kings Of Tallinn 2024 raised buy-ins in some of their tournaments. Rising popularity demands bigger prize pools, and these can now be found in the High Roller and PLO Championship tournaments. The buy-in for the High Roller goes from €3,000 to €5,000, and the unofficial Omaha Main Event is now the €3,000 PLO Championship. So, the buy-in went up by €2,000 in both cases.

Will any other poker tournaments get the boost? Mystery Bounties have been very popular, so I would not be surprised if Kings Of Tallinn 2024 schemed something for these also. Just a wild guess though.

€500,000 GTD Kings Of Tallinn Main Event + Other Big Ones

If the event keeps rising in popularity, Kings Of Tallinn 2024 Main Event will see over 500 unique players. The Main Event prize pool will most likely remain the same at €500,000 GTD, and so will the tournament structure, for most part, at least.

How long will the party last this time? I would say around 10 days, and if nothing drastic happens, there will be around 50 tournaments, more or less.

Smaller tournaments offer prize pools between €10,000 and €20,000, and then there is a handful of more high-value tournaments where prize pools go over €50,000, €100,000, and €200,000.

Also, players would probably be disappointed if Kings Of Tallinn 2024 did not host the team tournament, which is almost like a tradition at this point.

Poker Action For The Mixed Games People

Mixed Games are very popular in Northern Europe. They combine multiple different poker games in one tournament. To be good in multiple poker games demands some skill, which is why the best Mixed Games players are highly respected in the poker community.

So, what would Kings Of Tallinn 2024 be without the true poker specialists battling it out in the tournaments Sviten Special/Drawmaha and 8-Game, like last time? What is certain is that Teresa Nousiainen does know how to set up a Mixed Games poker tournament.

Experience the Best Poker Tournaments in Tallinn This February

Kings Of Tallinn 2024 will most likely still be the biggest poker event in Northern Europe next year. If you want to experience it, now is the time to get the wheels turning. Olybet hosts multiple qualifiers and satellites where you can win your spot!

Stay tuned for more info about the Kings Of Tallinn 2024. Till then, stay swifty and good luck!

As we’re approaching 2024 in rapid speed, we can look back on a year filled to the brim with great live poker tournaments and events. Online poker in all its glory, but there are very little things in life that can beat the thrill of playing a big live poker tournament.

However, the 2023 poker year is not over yet. In fact, the year will finish with arguably one of the most legendary poker tournaments of all time: the WPT World Championship. We over at PokerListings launched our Vegas Series earlier this year – probably our best promotion ever – enabling all poker players to win a $12 400 package and thus securing their seat at the WPT World Championship tables. We’ve been following the race with great excitement and joy, and Sunday 26th, it’s time for the grand final. We will finally see who will claim the package – maybe it will be you?

Still Time to Make Your Dream Become Reality!

Since August 17th, the PokerListings Vegas Series have been running over at WPT Global, and many players have been fighting for the prestigious WPT World Championship Package. The championship will be played December 12th-20th at the Wynn, Las Vegas. The prestigious tournament has a Buy-In of $10 400. Except for the Buy-In, the one snatching the package through the Vegas Series will also receive $2 000 to facilitate travel expenses.

During the whole series, players have been hunting leaderboard points by reaching the final table. November 23rd, the last out of the eight qualification tournaments will be played 20:00 CET. When that tournament is finished, the top 27 players on the leaderboard will receive their ticket to the Grand Final, which will be played Sunday 26th 13:00 ET.

If you – for some reason – have not participated in the Vegas Series yet, you shouldn’t be discouraged. With the current leaderboard standings, a good final table finish on the 23rd will give you good chances to qualify for the Grand Final.

The last qualification tournament will, of course, have the same structure as the previous ones. The Buy-In is $20 with unlimited re-entries as well as one Add-On for $10. Don’t forget that the password for the tournament is badabing!

Opportunity of a Lifetime

We’re so proud over this campaign. It feels amazing to offer poker players the opportunity to participate in a big live poker event, and potentially earning some life-changing real money (not mentioning becoming a historic WPT World Championship champion).

The WPT World Championship was played for the first time ever last year, in order to celebrate the 20 years of success for the World Poker Tour. No less than 2 960 players decided to participate in the historic event, and eventually, it was Eliot Hudson who would lift the trophy and take home a $4,1M paycheck.

WPT Global WPT World Championship Eliot Hudson

Maybe this year, the winner will be a PokerListings Vegas Series qualifier. We surely hope so, and thus, we wish good luck to all players participating in the series. This is the last stretch, folks!

Very few tournaments have been hyped this year as much as the WPT World Championship. Ever since the tournament was announced, players have been walking on needles, counting down the days to the 12th of December, when Las Vegas and the Wynn will host a legendary event.

Of course, with a staggering $40 Million guarantee, it’s hard not to get excited. Every poker player ought to be dreaming about participating in one of the biggest, most prestigious live poker events that there is. Thankfully enough, all players no matter their bankroll are given the opportunity to participate. How? Well, it’s all thanks to the qualifier and satellites running over at WPT Global. However, the time to throw your name into the competition for the packages is now!

Snipe yourself a $12 400 WPT Package – and be quick!

Considering the tournament is less than one month away, players need to move fast if they want to make their dreams become reality and participate in the WPT Global qualifiers. It is for sure an opportunity you don’t want to miss out on: you could qualify for the $10 400 WPT World Championship for as little as $5! WPT Global are surely enabling a lot of poker players to secure a seat at the tournament of a lifetime through this amazing promotion.

This Sunday, the 19th, the $1 060 direct qualifier starts at 4:30pm (ET) and has fourteen packages guaranteed, each package valued at $12 400. The following Sunday (26th), an identical tournament will be played at the same time, which will have at least fourteen packages guaranteed!

As previously mentioned things get even better, seeing as you can satellite your way to the $1 060 qualifiers from as little as $5. The feeder satellites are running daily over at WPT Global. Starting from here, players will work their way into the $220 satellites (which are scheduled to 2:25pm ET the same Sundays as the main qualifiers). At least 25 entries to the main qualifiers are guaranteed through the $220 satellites.

WPT Global Qualifying Main Schedule*:

Sunday November 19th 2:25pm ET $225 Satellite to $1 060 (Sunday 29th) 25x Entries to $1 060 Qualifier**
Sunday November 19th 4:30pm ET $1 060 WPT World Championship Qualifier 14x $12 400 WPT World Championship Packages
Sunday November 26th 2:25pm ET $225 Satellite to $1 060 (Sunday 26th) 25x Entries to $1 060 Qualifier**
Sunday November 26th 4:30pm ET $1 060 WPT World Championship Qualifier 14x $12 400 WPT World Championship Packages

*Feeder satellites are running frequently all day starting from $5.

**The satellites have 25x entries GTD together.

Be a Part of Poker History!

Through these satellites, players have the opportunity to be part of poker history. You may remember last year, when Irishman Stephen Kehoe qualified for the WPT World Championship 2022 and finished in 14th place, turning his mere dollars into a whopping $269 000. Maybe this year, it’s your turn to write poker history!

Don’t snooze, poker players! The first main qualifier starts this Sunday. Head over to WPT Global right now and turn your $5 into the poker adventure of your dreams!

The UK and Ireland Poker Tour, also known as its acronym UKIPT, has come to an end for this year. The tour did not disappoint during the 2023 season, hosting great events in Dublin, Malta, Blackpool, Brighton, London and Edinburgh, before concluding in Nottingham. The Dusk Till Dawn Poker and Casino received the honor acting as host for the season finale and presumably, all participating players were eager to finish off the live poker tour at the top of the podium. Four tournaments were played between November 5th-13th, and of course, the £1 100 UKIPT Main Event were the big crown jewel. The tournament is since finished and we have a winner to present in the form of Vincent Meli!

Quickest Final Table Ever

Meli, admittedly most known for his successful cash game career, were one of the 1 227 players entering the tournament. After two long days of tournament poker, ten players came back for day 3. Presumably, Meli had a good feeling arriving to the table, considering he held the chip lead at this point.

Not too long into day 3, the elimination for 10th came and it was time to redraw for the final table consisting of nine players. Little did the remaining players know they were going to be part of history, seeing as the quickest UKIPT final table ever would soon begin.

PokerStars UKIPT 2023 Nottingham Final Table
The Final Table

In fact it was Meli who, together with tournament pro Patrice Brandt, took turns eliminating the other seven players. After just three levels, the two found themselves Heads Up and decided to make a deal, seeing chip leader Brandt securing a bigger slice of the cake. However, there were still £2 000 left to play for, as well as the glorious trophy!

Even though Brandt held 20 million in chips, Frenchman Meli did not panic with his 15 million stack and slowly started to take chunk by chunk from Brandt. Eventually, Brandt shoved his roughly 10 big blinds all in pre flop holding 3 3 . Meli looked down at Q 6 and decided to go for it. The board spelled 10 4 A 5 Q and with a dramatic river card, Meli won the tournament, the title, and his biggest ever tournament cash!

Meli perceived the final table action as somewhat utopic:

“It was perfect. Nobody doubled up, players just busted one after the other. I knew I was probably going to be heads-up against Patrice. It was perfect to put pressure on the small stacks. You always dream of it, but when it doesn’t happen it takes time to have a score. You still believe, but you feel it’s far away. I didn’t even think about the possibility of winning, not even at the final table. I’m very glad.”

That’s a wrap for the UKIPT 2023. The tour has been presented by PokerStars and boy, did they deliver! During all the events, a UKIPT Leaderboard has been running. The winner, who is yet to be announced, will receive a £15 000 UKIPT 2024 Package!

It shouldn’t come as a surprise that the poker community were excited for the North American Poker Tour (NAPT) 2023. The event announced earlier this year that it would return after a 12-year long hiatus and the poker tournament schedule had poker players walking on needles. The NAPT organization made a great event not only focusing on the featured tournaments, but they also live-streamed the $1 650 Main Event and the $5 300 High Roller final table. They also had a collaboration with the Formula 1 circuit, treating poker players with an experience of a lifetime away from the poker tables. Qualifications for the 2024 season of “the Big Game” also ran during the event. As you can hear, NAPT 2023 surely returned with a bang!

The previously mentioned $5 300 High Roller event was, of course, a very interesting tournament to follow. After the final six table had battled it out on the final table, a winner was crowned, and his name was Samuel Laskowitz!

Laskowitz, the Highroller King!

Laskowitz, who’s originally from New York, stood for one of the 150 entries in the tournament. After day 1, he bagged his chips and would return to the final table the following day with second most in chips.

The final table were played 6-handed, and only Jesse Lonis arrived as the chip leader. The first two player to bid farewell were Alex Condon and John Andress. Shortly thereafter, Lonis eliminated John Riordian in 4th place. Consider Lonis won the $10 000 Super High Roller earlier during the week, one could assume he felt confident with his game.

Lonis soon found himself in a big pot with Laskowitz. It was Laskowitz who initially opened the pot from the Button with a 120 000 raise holding K Q . Lonis looked down at K 2 from the Small Blind and decided to raise to 475 000. After Shannon Shorr folded his Big Blind, Laskowitz called. The players were treated with a 3 2 4 flop and Lonis led out with 275 000. Laskowitz called, bringing the 9 turn. Lonis now slowed down and Laskowitz saw his chance and took it. He bet 425 000, which led to Lonis folding and Laskowitz drastically improved his stack.

“A Lot of Hard Work and Good Luck”

Shortly thereafter, Laskowitz managed to knock out Lonis in third place. He was now Heads Up against Shannon Shorr and held a significant chip advantage. After a while, he called off Shorr’s 11 Big Blind shove with K 10 . Shorr held Q 10 and seeing as there were no queen on the 5 A 8 6 8 board, Shorr finished as the runner up and Laskowitz took the first prize sum of $180 850!

The win seemed meaningful to Laskowitz:

“It makes me feel like I belong and that I can play at this level and succeed. A lof of hard work and good luck!”

We salute NAPT for a very successful comeback, and hope that we’ll see them in the future next year as well!

The Polish Poker Days, powered by Legalny-Poker and KKPoker, have set sail in Bratislava. From November 3rd until November 13th all action will prevail at the Banco Casino in the heart of the capital city of Slovakia. For ten days straight, many players from Poland and beyond will gather and try to get a piece of the €300,000 guaranteed prize pool of the Main Event.

For just a marginal buy-in of €125, it is promised to be a massive playing field with re-entries flying around like birds escaping the winter and flying south. Previous editions have shown that the Polish influence of Legalny-Poker has left its marks, resulting in events with over 3,000 players. This time, with three flights to come, the counter already shows 3,046 entries!

Polish poker law is an area full of uncertainties, and due to this reason, the Polish often move abroad to be able to organize big live poker events. You could compare their market with the one of Norway for example. Perhaps the recent elections, giving the opposition the upper hand to create a leading group in the Polish government will result in possible changes to the poker law. Just like all the poker Poles, we stand alongside them as clarity is extremely important for the industry we are dealing with every single day.

Banco Casino Welcomes Another Massive Poker Festival

Banco Casino has already for years the place to be for events such as the Polish Poker Championship, where low buy-ins are the dominating factor of the event, and the guaranteed prize pool is reaching the sky. With a guaranteed total prize pool of €500,000, divided over several events, it is promised to be of great value in the heart of Bratislava during this event. Not only will the tournaments be extremely juicy, but the cash games will be fully packed around the clock. As it’s already ongoing since the beginning of the week, we can see the numbers increasing every single day!

If you are around Bratislava at this point, you might just be able to give it a spin at Banco Casino together with all the Polish players who have come to the capital in hundreds. The Summer edition of this event had attracted 3,630 entries, which we think will easily be surpassed today in the Winter edition. It was Serbian Mario Skenderovic who took down the Summer edition for a massive payday of €52,115, followed by second player finisher Davita Khonelidze from Georgia who took home €42,715 after they have a deal Heads-Up.

After roughly a month filled to the brim with poker action that has seen cards flying and heads rolling, the Bounty Hunter Series over at GGPoker has reached its finish line. Since the middle of October, players have been hunting big bounties and high cashes on the GGPoker tables. It has for sure been one of the best series of 2023, and the entire online poker community ought to look forward for its return next year.

What added a little extra spice to the series was the $210 MYSTERY BOUNTY Main Event. It’s very possible mystery bounty-tournaments have been the most appreciated format in recent times, and it just keeps gaining popularity. The fact that the main event held a $500 000 Top Bounty certainly tickled the feathers of all players.

With the main event finished, it is time to look back at what we’ve seen during the series; not only do we have some well deserved winners of the key events to highlight, but we’ll also share who became the undisputed Bounty King after knocking out the most players during the series. That being said: here are the highlights from GGPoker’s Bounty Hunter Series 2023!

Atomsvift88 Wins the Main Event!

In the main event, 25 118 unique players decided to take their shots, as well as an additional 6 176 re-entries. A total of 3233 contestants advanced to Day 2 and eventually, we had a final table line-up. After roughly three hours of play, “Atomsvift88” found himself chip-lead Heads Up against “RustyHasBeen” despite entering the final table with last in chips.

About one hour into the 1v1-play, Atomsvift88 forced RustyHasBeen and his remaining 13 big blinds all in pre-flop with K J . RustyHasBeen eventually called with K 10 . The board ran out 9 J 5 3 4 and Atomsvift88 became the winner of the $210 MYSTERY BOUNTY Main Event and earned himself $247 336,21!

GGPoker’s Bounty Hunter Series 2023 Main Event Winner tiltducKK

The $500 000 Top Mystery Bounty was claimed by Montenegro player “H8fUI”, which saw him becoming the big winner of the online poker tournament despite leaving in 199th place.

$210 MYSTERY BOUNTY Main Event – Final Table Payouts (Bounties Included):

1. Atomsvift88 $247 336,21
2. RustyHasBeen$171 137,17

7. Golden Shark$43 721,08
8. Secreton1$27 147,48
9. HLXDERRRR$38 690,98

All Praise to tiltducKK, the Bounty King!

During the series, all player’s knockouts have been tracked. For each knockout, players received one leaderboard point. Everyone wanted to climb the leaderboard and claim the 1st place finish, and we can understand you: the winner would be awarded with a $10 000 package to the WSOP Paradise, which will be played this December at the Bahamas. Now that the series is finished, we would like to gratulate Brazilian player “tiltducKK” who emerged on top with 278 knockouts! Next month he’ll be flown to the tropical paradise and participate in the $5 000 Main Event with a $15M GTD, while enjoying his free accommodations.

Sr_Duck and DinPP Claimed Big Titles

Two more tournaments, the Main Event aside, made a little extra noise during the series. The “little brother” in form of the $25 MYSTERY BOUNTY Mini Main Event counted a total 107 713 entries, and as we’ve previously reported, “DinPP” won the tournament and earned $76 944. The tournament featured a $200 000 Top Mystery Bounty which was claimed by “homempeixe777”, which made him the big winner of the tournament despite his 1509th place finish.

The $50 Global MILLION$ Bounty Edition were part of the trinity of bigger events alongside the Mini- and the Main Event. 40 277 total entries transformed into 4 196 players advancing to Day 2. When all was said and done, Albanian player “Sr_Duck” could lift the trophy and cash out $88 947 for his amazing feat.

We’d like to take the opportunity to thank GGPoker on behalf of the poker community for treating us with such a good series. GGPoker has surely earned its reputation of being one of the best poker sites out there, and it’s not hard to understand their popularity consider the quality they deliver in every product and promotion that they launch. Bounty Hunter Series, we’ll see you next year!

Partypoker have delivered many appreciated live poker events during 2023. About a month ago, the partypoker MILLIONS Malta were played at Casino Portomaso, and it was most certainly a very successful event. Last week, it was Ireland’s turn to welcome partypoker with open arms, seeing it was time for the partypoker MILLIONS Irish Poker Festival to kick off. Players and poker enthusiasts were treated with a lot of serious poker action between October 31st and November 5th. With no less than seven bigger key events, the cards flew during the six days, and one tournament that stood out was, of course, the €3 000 MILLIONS Irish Poker Festival Main Event, which eventually saw Dutchman Michel Molenaar claiming the title!

Molenaar Wins It All!

Presumably, Molenaar had a good feeling entering the €700 000 GTD tournament. Hailing from the Netherlands, Molenaar already had an amazing 2023 poker season prior to the event, looking back on some great cashes. He also participated in the Mystery Bounty event in partypoker MILLIONS Malta about a month prior to his Dublin visit where he finished as the runner up.

After a couple days of grinding it out in the €3 000 MILLIONS Irish Poker Festival Main Event – which saw 286 players fighting for glory – Molenaar eventually found himself on the final table with fourth most in chips. Legendary Irish poker player Andy Black also featured in the final nine and it was a final table filled with skillful players, all on the hunt for the €210 000 up top. In fact, seven out of the nine players held the Irish flag, presumably much to the home crowd’s delight.

partypoker MILLIONS Main Event Trophy

The final table progressed quickly in the beginning, seeing the three shortest stacks – held by Barry Carson, Oadraig O’Neill and Andy Black – busting out in ninth, eighth and seventh place respectively. After that, Molenaar started to be the dominant one among the remaining players.

The busts kept happening and suddenly, Molenaar found himself Heads Up against Tomas MacNamara. MacNamara is no stranger to the live poker scene and has collected many HendonMob flags since his EPT London cash back in 2008; the scene was set for some serious one-on-one poker action!

Even though Molenaar entered Heads Up play with a considerable chip advantage, MacNamara came to fight and increased his stack slow and steady. Eventually, Molenaar were dealt 3 2 prior to the 452 flop which treated him with a straight flush draw. All the chips went in to the middle and Molenaar hit the flush on the river, leaving MacNamara’s flopped two pair useless. Such, Molenaar took the biggest cash of his career with the €210 000 paycheck, and he can look back on a great poker year!

Game Of Gold Episode 2

October and the festive Halloween season has come to an end, and with that, we’ve seen the conclusion of the Bounty Builder Series. The ever so popular PKO tournament series ran on PokerStars October 15th-30th and attracted many players with its $20M GTD.

PokerStars did a good job ensuring that every online poker player could participate in the series no matter the bankroll. Tournament Buy-Ins have ranged from just a couple of bucks, all the way up to high roller standards. With a good poker tournament schedule, two special events stood out during the series: of course, we’re talking about the two Main Events. Both kicked off October 29th; the $1M GTD Low Main Event had a $109 Buy-In, while the participators in the $1,25M High Main Event brought $1 050 each. Let’s take a look which players claimed the titles!

$1 050 High Main Event – Lucky Man Got lucky

Let’s start with “the big one”, which saw 1 232 players throwing their name into the hat. During two days filled of intensive progressive knockout action in the $1 050 High Main Event, players would fight for their share of the $1,25M GTD. When all was said and done, it stood clear the title would go to Argentine through PokerStars player “Mr.Luckyman88”. Luck will only get you so far, and there’s no doubt that the Argentinian also showed great skill and discipline during his run. Congratulations to the title!

$109 Low Main Event – I Could Buy Myself Flowers

The $1M GTD prize pool in the $109 Low Main Event would be shattered, seeing as the 12 490 large field generated a prize pool of a total $1,249M. Considering the amount of players participating in the tournament, it is fair to call the $109 edition the “real” Main Event during the Bounty Builder series.

Heads would roll and bounties would be collected, before the top three players would make a deal. Biggest slice of the cake went to Vietnamese player “Flowerloveeee”, who surely could treat him-/herself with a nice bouquet of roses, considering the $90 021 prize check.

Huge congratulations to all winners in the PokerStars’ Bounty Builder Series! It has been a great series with a lot of entertaining poker- and bounty action, and we can’t wait to see the series return again next year.

PokerGO’s second Pot Limit Omaha series wrapped up this week and, after 10 events, Daniel Geeng came out of nowhere to top the overall leaderboard.

The American wasn’t a big name on the poker tournament circuit prior to the PLO Series II in Las Vegas, but everyone was talking about him by the end of it. Geeng notched up four cashes, including an outright win, the take the Player of the Series title and a $25,000 bonus prize.

However, he wasn’t the only big winner. The series got underway on October 19 with a $5,100 PLO freezeout. Matthew Wantman came through a field of 172 entrants in that event to take home the first PokerGO PLO Series II title and $150,500.

Seasoned PLO Pros Shine During PokerGO Series

Geeng was one of the players who went deep in Event #2, the $7,600 bounty tournament. However, when the final chips had fallen, it was Finnish poker pro Eelis Pärssinen who emerged victorious to scoop the $149,000 top prize.

Stephen Hubbard stepped into the limelight to win Event #3, the first $10,100 tournament of the series. Next up was Adam Hendrix. The American took down PokerGO’s first ever progressive bounty tournament for a combined payout worth $324,710.

Geeng was second in that event and gradually closing in on the Player of the Series title. Before that, more of poker’s best four-card exponents added to their already glittering résumés.

Event #9: $25,200 PLO ChampionshipDaniel Geeng$487,500
Event #10: $2,100 5-Card PLODavid Wang$32,640

Geeng was missing from the final payouts from Event #5 to Event #8, but all that changed in Event #9. The series championship saw 75 players pay the $25,200 entry fee to create a prizepool of $1,875,000. That level of interest not only meant the winner would walk away with $487,500 but earn almost 300 leaderboard points.

Daniel Geeng Seals the Deal

Geeng knew a win would put him top of the leaderboard and he used that to put in the tournament performance of his life. He started the final session with 30% of the chips in play and rarely faltered as the field thinned.

Tournament veteran and series winner Eelis Pärssinen was a threat at the final table, but not even he could derail Geeng’s run. In the end, Veselin Karakitukov had the unenviable task of stopping Geeng who was showing his PLO cash game poker skills were just as effective in tournaments.

Unfortunately for Karakitukov, he couldn’t get it done. The final had saw Karakitukov move all-in with 6 3 2 2with the board showing K7 2 8. Geeng called with K K 8 3, leaving Karakitukov drawing to a five, a deuce, or a club. None of those cards arrived and, even though the 7 gave Karakitukov a full house, Geeng’s was better. With that, Event #9 was over and Geeng was the champion.

That result took his PLO series earnings to $851,160. Add to that an extra $25,000 for topping the leaderboard, and the man from New Hampshire has cemented his status as a rising star on the PLO tournament scene.

We’re only weeks away from maybe the most appreciated live poker stops in Europe – the Festival Bratislava! Founder and poker legend Martin “Franke” Von Zweigbergk and his team have really succeeded in making the Festival a unique event. The Festival is not only about poker; it also features various casino games event, as well as a sportsbook tournament. This, combined with a lot of Mixed Games action, makes the Festival an incredible event that has seen huge success ever since its debut event back in 2021.

Now, players have an exceptional opportunity securing a package to the Festival Bratislava through the upcoming “Battle of the Fishes”!

Who’s the Bigger Fish?

It all emerged from “trash talk” between Franke and PokerListing’s Head of Poker Mauritz Altikardes. These two guys always want to prove their superior skill against the other, and such, the created the Battle of the Fishes, a public last longer-event between the two halibuts. Not only will the poker community learn who of these two is the best poker player, but the participators also have a golden opportunity to win a package to the Festival!

Next Thursday, 7th of November, the Battle of the Wishes will be played at 19:00 CET. Players can participate in the tournament through PAF Poker or Coolbet Poker, and you’d be very wise not to miss out on this opportunity.

The package that players will compete for includes:

  • A seven night stay at Crowne Hotel Plaza (or the Marriott) Bratislava for two between November 26th-December 3rd. Breakfast is included.
  • One €550 Buy-In (can be used either for the H.O.R.S.E poker event or the Main Event).
  • One €250 Buy-In (player’s choice).
  • One €125 Buy-In (player’s choice).

Except everything mentioned above, the lucky winner will also receive merch from both the Festival and PokerListings, as well as a “memorable food-session with the fishes”, which obviously is the grand prize in the package.

About the Festival Bratislava

This is not the first time the Festival comes to Bratislava. The amazing Banco Casino Bratislava will act as host for the live event, a venue that has hosted countless successful live poker events throughout the years. If you’ve never played poker in Slovakia before, the Festival will surely be a fitting first experience.

The Festival will run November 26th-December 3rd, and the tournament schedule leaves little to ask for. Except for the €550 Texas No Limit Hold ‘Em Main Event which has six start flights, there are a lot of other exciting tournaments. One of the most hyped ones is the H.O.R.S.E.S. The Festival didn’t feel that H.O.R.S.E. had enough games, so they added a second “S” at the end which stands for Sviten Special (also known as Drawmaha). The fact that the Festival really gives Mixed Games the attention it deserves makes it a very appreciated live poker event.

The Festival Bratislava 2023

Also, let’s not forget about the €125 Festival Queens event December 1st, which will see a new poker queen be crowned.

As previously mentioned, there’s also a lot of other stuff besides poker that gives the event an additional spice. Roulette-, Slots- and Sportsbook Championships can also be distinguished in the tournament schedule, and there’s no doubt the Festival Bratislava 2023 will be an experience of a lifetime.

Do not miss out on the online satellite Battle of the Fishes next Thursday. Good luck to everyone participating!

One of the best movies of 2019 was “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” which had an amazing cast featuring Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie and more. We’re mentioning this Quentin Tarantino-picture not only to give you a good idea for upcoming movie nights, but also because we’ve been reminded of raw Hollywood action after following the Bounty Hunter Series over at GGPoker the previous weeks!

The Bounty Hunter Series, which kicked off October 15th, has been one of the best online poker series of the year. The previous weekend, we saw the conclusion of the $50 Global MILLION$ Bounty Edition, and the weekend before that, a winner was crowned in the $25 MYSTERY BOUNTY Mini Main Event. Except these two online poker tournaments which both had many start flights, the tournament supply has been excellent, and players have had the opportunity to buy in from as low as $5, all the way up to $630.

The series keeps rolling on and we’re already excited for the upcoming weekend and also the series conclusion, where we’ll see the conclusion of the $210 MYSTERY BOUNTY Main Event!

Who Will Be the Real Bounty King!?

It will be November 6th at approximately 18:30 UTC, when the survivors from all the day 1 flights will gather in the $210 MYSTERY BOUNTY Main Event. Fair enough; day 2 will be played on Monday after the weekend, but considering there’s multiple day 1 flights still to be played, it most certainly deserves to be “hyped up”.

At this very moment, roughly 1 500 players have already secured their spot in the tournament, out of the 14 434 total entries that has been made. Since there are still many, many more day 1 flights to be played, the value in the Main Event ought to be mind-blowing.

Bounty Hunter Series Main Event on GGPoker

Except for being an event with a reasonable Buy-In and a great structure, there is of course one other feature that attracts a lot of players to the Main Event: the $500 000 Top Mystery Bounty. During day 2, one lucky player will receive the golden chest that contains the hefty prize check.

The Main Event aside, the $320 GGMasters Bounty Special Edition is also foretold to be a success. A minimum $75 is guaranteed to each player who successfully knocks out an opponent in this progressive bounty tournament. The tournament has a $400 000 guarantee and is scheduled to kick off November 5th,18:30 UTC.

A Bounty Buffet

But of course, there are many more tournaments which all fits your desired Buy-in. Saturday 4th 16:30 UTC will surely be interesting no matter your bankroll, when three similar versions of a PKO tournament will be held. These three tournaments will have a respective Buy-In of $525, $54 and $5,4. What maybe will tickle your feather regarding these tournaments is that they have significantly larger bounties than usual!

One of the greatest thing about poker is that it brings people together. It is one of not too many opportunities for the average Joe to sit down at a table next to a potential childhood idol or a lifetime legend. When it comes to celebrities and poker, we’ve seen quite a few stars enjoying the game throughout the years: Matt Damon, Jason Alexander, Neymar Jr., etc.

During the last couple of weeks, not only have Global Poker provided their players with the opportunity to play with four absolute virtuosos within their respective field, but also treated the poker community with interesting Heads Up-battles the celebrities between. Not only are we looking forward to the DJ Khaled Celebrity Challenge. We’re also treated with an interesting Heads Up between the award-winning musician and legendary basketball player Paul George. The winner will donate $10 000 to the foundation of their choice, financed by Global Poker. If winning, DJ Khaled will consider donating the money to his own foundation, the We the Best Foundation:

“It means a lot for us to help empower others to learn and grow, including supporting those with passions in areas like music or STEAM through our different initiatives.”

It is no secret DJ Khaled’s been enjoying the company of the athletes around the Global Poker tables:

“I love that we can do it for a good cause in this tournament. I can’t wait to play with all the guys – everyone is a total legend in their field.”

After roughly two of the best poker weeks of the year, GGPoker’s Bounty Hunter Series now enters its final week. It would be a shame to call this series anything other than a total success so far. The flights for the three biggest online poker tournaments has seen many players throwing their name into the hat competing for large bounties and eternal glory in the bounty hall of fame, and there’s still a whole week left of bounty goodness to take part of.

There are still many starting flights to participate in when it comes to the prestigious $210 MYSTERY BOUNTY Main Event. When day two starts November 6th, not only will we see a winner being crowned and with that earning legendary status as the superior bounty hunter, but we will also see which player will get his or hers hands on the humungous $500 000 top mystery bounty.

With all this action to look forward to, we can’t forget what we’ve already seen. This weekend saw many tournament being conquered by different players, but mainly, we saw the $50 Global MILLION$ Bounty Edition conclude, which has been one of the flagships tournaments with day 1 flights running from the very start of the series. Let’s dive in and see what happened this weekend!

Sr_Duck Wins Big!

Let’s start with the $50 Global MILLION$ Bounty Edition. This is the tournament that just couldn’t wait for the series to kick off, so a couple of flights were played before the official start date October 15th. A total 40 277 entries were made in the combined day 1 flights and 4 196 players advanced to day 2. The progressive bounty action saw players busting out left and right, and when all was said and done, it was Albanian player “Sr_Duck” who emerged on top after beating Finland’s “DonkersMcDonks” Heads-Up. For this feat, Sr_Duck not only claimed the first place prize of $52 862, but he also won an additional $36 084 in bounties, writing his final paycheck to $88 947. Huge congratulations, Sr_Duck!

In terms of higher stakes, we saw another tournament with a $630 Buy-In this weekend, the Super SIX HR. The tournament was played with a turbo structure and saw 80 players contending for the title. Here, it was GGPoker player “SenvintySync” who claimed the title and cashed $13 455 with roughly two thirds of that sum being in bounties.

As mentioned earlier, there’s still plenty of time to participate in day 1 flights for the Main Event. Even just one hour prior to day 2, a “Last Minute” flight will run. Of course, there are a lot of other tournaments the last week of the series, so no matter your bank roll, you will find a tournament that suits you.

Good luck in one last week of bounty hunting in GGPoker’s Bounty Hunter Series!

Out of all the online poker action we’ve been treated with the last couple of months, one could argue that the Fall Festival over at WPT Global has been one of the highlights. A lot of exciting and entertaining poker has been played on the site during the last weeks, and the whole series recently culminated with the Fall Festival Main Event. Participating players surely were eager to claim the title of the event, considering it was not only a good prize pool to hunt the biggest share off, but also a $10 400 entry to the WPT World Championship were also at stake. When the dust settled, Norwegian Kayham Mokri could title himself as the winner!

Mokri’s Sigh of Relief

104 entries were made in the $3 500 online poker tournament, which meant a first place prize of $90 122. Mokri, known on the WPT Global poker site as “SinZuang”, eventually found himself Heads-Up in the tournament and the victory was within his grasp. After an eventful Heads-Up, he finally claimed the title; however, he felt more relief than joy:

“Heads-Up was very frustrating because I had a humongous chip lead and this guy, he wouldn’t bust. We ended up going all in four times and I just lost all of them, with flip situations. And then I was getting frustrated, but when I won, I just smashed my office desk and I was like “finally, yes”! It was more of a relief than anything else.”

It shouldn’t come as a surprise that the Norwegian emerged on top. Well-respected poker player Mokri can look back on a great poker year and he’s now edging on $3,3M in tournament earnings. He won the EPT High Roller in Barcelona back in August and he feels like momentum is crucial when it comes to tournament poker:

“It’s just like you’re in the moment, you’re playing well, when you’re winning it’s easier to play well, you’re more in the zone. And I’m going to continue to play tournaments I think at least for some time, but I’m going to cut down on traveling because it’s very exhausting. But for now, I’m enjoying them and mostly the higher Buy-Ins”.

Next Stop: Vegas

Of course, Mokri can cut down on the traveling, however, he will have to clear out his calendar December 12th-21st. With his win in the Fall Festival Main Event, he was awarded a $10 400 Buy-In for the WPT World Championship that will be played at the Wynn, Las Vegas. This fuzz about this tournament has been non-stop for the biggest part of 2023 and it will for sure be one of the biggest live poker events of the year. Players still have chance earning their seat at the table for a cheaper buck, seeing as they can win a $12 400 package through the PokerListings Vegas Series.

Overall, the Fall Festival at WPT Global was a huge success, and surely, they are as eager as we are for the WPT World Championship to kick off!

There’s no secret that progressive knock outs is one of the most popular poker tournament formats on the online poker scene, and with a $20M GTD, the Bounty Builder Series has attracted many players competing for massive bounties.

Today, Sunday the 29th, the whole series will culminate, seeing as it will reach its culmination with not one, but two Main Events

Bounty Builder Series Main Event

Through roughly two weeks now, the Bounty Builder Series has been running and players have had the opportunity to choose from progressive knockout tournaments with all different Buy-Ins. It’s an educated guess that a lot of players have been looking forward to tonight, seeing as it’s finally time for the two Main Events to be played.

First, we have the $109 Main Event, which starts 18:05 CET, holds a $1M GTD. PokerStars player should be familiar with the Buy-In considering we’ve seen the same in the legendary PokerStars tournament Sunday Million, which of course also will bring a lot of action today.

The bigger of the two Main Events, also starting 18:05 CET, has a $1 050 Buy-In and a $1,25M GTD. Considering the Bounty Hunter Series has been a massive success this far, it’s not unlikely that we will see the guaranteed prize pools been shattered.

There’s of course a lot of other interesting tournaments in the series tonight as well. One thing that makes an online poker tournament series attractive for the wide mass of poker players is a lot of different Buy-Ins and PokerStars really managed to create a good tournament schedule that ensures all players, no matter their bankroll, can take part of some good bounty action. Today, tournaments are running in the Bounty Builder Series with Buy-Ins starting from as little as $11.

One tournament that will be extra interesting to follow the action in today is the $5 2000 Titans Event. High Rollers always bring that little extra dramatic feeling and this $400 000 GTD tournament will surely see many skilled poker players hunting massive bounties. As previously mentioned, there are a lot of good PKO tournaments running tonight, so players would be very wise to browse the PokerStars lobby as soon as possible and create a tournament schedule that fits their respective bankroll and Sunday poker grind schedule.

It should also be made clear that even though the Main Events are being played tonight, there’s also a whole day of bounty action tomorrow, Monday 30th, to look forward to. If you haven’t participated in the Bounty Builder Series yet, there is still time, and considering this is one of many good tournament series that PokerStars treat players with during the poker year, you don’t want to miss out on this.

Good luck on all players participating in the Bounty Builder Series on PokerStars tonight. It will be very interesting to see which people will cement their legendary status after claiming the victories in the two Main Events. We hope you will have a lot of fun knockout action today!
