PokerStars’ $20 Million Bounty Builder Series Goes Head-to-Head With GGPoker Alternative

PokerStars’ $20 Million Bounty Builder Series Goes Head-to-Head With GGPoker Alternative

It’s the battle of the bounties this month as PokerStars and GGPoker go head-to-head with rival multi-million-dollar online poker tournament series.

GGPoker recently announced its $50 million Bounty Hunter Series, which will take place between October 16 and November 7. Not wanting to miss a trick, PokerStars released the full schedule for its own bounty series just hours later.

Known as the PokerStars Bounty Builder, the series gets underway on October 15 and features 150 tournaments that will run through to October 30. Topping the bill are two main events costing $109 and $1,050, respectively.

There will be $2.2 million in guaranteed prize money for those events combined, but the series as a whole will offer a lot more. Indeed, by the time play ends on October 30, PokerStars will have paid out at least $20 million.

PokerStars to Pay Out $20 Million+ in Bounty Prizes

GGPoker comes out top when it comes to guaranteed payouts, but its series also goes on for longer. PokerStars is packing a lot into its two-week schedule, including MTTs starting at $11. What’s more, the tournaments cover a variety of formats, including progressive knockout, semi-turbo, monster stacks and high rollers.

PokerStars Bounty Builder Series Highlights

  • Bounty Builder Series Warm-Up: $55 NLHE, 8-Max - $175,000 guarantee
  • Bounty Builder Series Sunday Million: $109 NLHE, 8-Max - $1,000,000 guarantee
  • Bounty Builder Series Hyper Zoom: $55 NLHE 4-Max, Progressive TKO, Quads - $45,000 guarantee
  • Bounty Builder Series: $530 NLHE 8-Max - $150,000 guarantee
  • Bounty Builder Series: $109, 6-Max 5-Card PLO8 - $25,000 guarantee
  • Bounty Builder Series: $11 NLHE, 8-Max - $100,000 guarantee

Direct buy-ins are available for all MTTs, but PokerStars is staying true to form and putting on a plethora of satellites. PokerStars’ Power Path is open, which means players can work their way through step qualifiers to win a Bronze pass that gives them access to all $109 MTTs in the Bounty Builder Series.

Players can also make their way through the Silver Power Path to win a pass that gets them a ticket bundle consisting of the following:

  • 10 x $109 Bounty Builder Series tickets
  • 15 x $55 Bounty Builder Series tickets
  • 25 x $22 Bounty Builder Series tickets

Each Bounty Builder Series tournament also has direct satellites starting at under $1, which means you could play your way to a share of $20 million for just a few cents.

Play for $70 Million This October

Of course, the beauty of online poker is that you can play multiple tables across multiple sites. Therefore, if you can’t decide between the bounty series on GGPoker and PokerStars, you can simply take part in both.

We might be in a pre-Christmas quiet period when it comes to major live poker tournaments, but the industry’s leading online poker sites are keeping things ticking over nicely. Indeed, with at least $70 million in prize money to play for over the next three weeks and plenty of low-cost satellites, October is a good time to ante up, regardless of how big your bankroll is.
