Michael Phelps to Sit at the Table for Global Poker Celebrity Challenge Round 3
With Round 2 of the Global Poker Celebrity Challenge having concluded on October 12th, Global Poker players are warming up for Round 3. Rounds 1 and 2 saw two basketball superstars, Paul George and Karl-Anthony Towns, battle against the best players from Global Poker. Now, it’s time for world-renowned American swimmer Michael Phelps to take his place at the table.
Round 3 began on October 16th, and will run until October 29th. Until then, players will be able to put their skills to the test against the most decorated Olympic athlete of all time, in a series of Sweeps Coins qualifying online poker tournaments. Not only that, Phelps will also play a heads-up match against the next contestant in the Celebrity Challenge, DJ Khaled.
Battle Against Phelps to Win Awesome Prizes
During the first week of the Challenge, between October 16th and October 23rd, all Global Poker players will be able to compete in one of eight Sweeps Coin Qualifier tournaments. Each one has a buy-in of 3.3 and starts every day at 20:30 ET.
Participating in the qualifying tournament allows you to earn a portion of a huge prize pool, a unique Global Poker tee signed by Phelps himself, and a spot in the final table. The Final of the Celebrity Challenge Round 3 will be held on October 25th and will see the eight Qualifier winners face off against the 23-time Olympic Gold-medalist himself.

Michael Phelps vs DJ Khaled
The fun doesn’t stop with the player challenges, though. After Michael Phelps competes against Global Poker players, he’ll also strut his stuff against none other than DJ Khaled. The world-renowned musician will be the fourth and final celebrity to compete in the challenge after an exciting heads-up match against Phelps.
The match will consist of three rounds in a best-of-three format. Whoever wins two out of three rounds will be victorious and will get to donate $10,000 to their chosen charity. All heads-up matches will be broadcast on the Global Poker website for users to enjoy.
Best of all, once it’s all said and done in the heads-up battle between Phelps and DJ Khaled, it’ll be time for Khaled to sit at the poker table against Global Poker competitors.
Celebrity Challenge Grand Finals
When all four Celebrity Challenge rounds are complete, Global Poker will host the Grand Finals for the ultimate prize: a Ferrari Race Day in North America. There will be two separate Finals matches, one for the players and one for the celebrities.
The players’ Finals will take place on November 12th and will consist of the four contestants who won each round of the Celebrity Challenge. The four finalists will compete to win an all-expenses paid trip to experience one of Ferrari’s Race Days wherever they want in North America.
The four celebrities — Paul George, Karl-Anthony Towns, Michael Phelps, and DJ Khaled — will also compete in their own hotly-anticipated Finals match. The Finals will commence on November 13th, and the top three celebrities will get to donate a whopping $90,000 to their preferred charity.
