Sahamies Strikes Back for $123k
Ilari Sahamies did his best to stop the bleeding last night and finally booked a big win in the high stakes games on PokerStars.
Sahamies, who lost more than $1 million this weekend, had yet to record a victory this week but finally changed that last night.
The aggressive Finn recorded 1,423 hands of $50/$100 Pot-Limit Omaha against a rotating group of players that included JP Kelly, Richard “nutsinho” Lyndaker, Jens “Jeans89” Kyllonen and Phil “MrSweets28” Galfond.
By the time Sahamies finally called it quits he had built up a profit of $123,000, which made him the biggest winner of the night.
He’s still trying to dig his way out of the hole this year but Sahamies had now down only $274,000 in 2011 on PokerStars.
Alexey “LuckyGump” Makarov was the biggest donator of the evening as he dumped a total of $109k into the Six-Max PLO games that were running even more to Richard Lyndaker heads-up.
Makarov has taken some severe beatings this year but he’s still holding on to a $130k profit this year.
Sahamies was the biggest winner last night but 1-ronnyr3 wasn’t that far behind with $86k in profit thanks to the Six-Max PLO games.
Some of the other big winners included Ben86 (+$81k), V. Wahlbeck (+$54k) and 2pairof2 (+$29k).
On the losing side were Richard Lyndaker (-$70k), KidAcid (-$40k), SoloTalent2 (-$38k) and Phil Galfond (-$35k).
Viktor “Isildur1” Blom was absent for yet another night on PokerStars as railbirds eagerly await his return after winning over $1 million this weekend.
