Review
Make a Million from Online Poker promises to reveal how to make vast amounts of money playing poker online, but does it? The short answer is no.
Nigel Goldman, a vastly successful businessman and poker player, wrote the book to teach the reader how to make money playing online. The problem is that it doesn't offer any information not already available in many other poker books.
Goldman concentrates on valuing pocket cards, draws, outs, trap hands and tells. None of the theories are revolutionary in any way, and the marketing gimmick of promising the reader he'll glean enough knowledge to make millions is getting old to say the least.
Make a Million is, however, well written and could be very useful for beginning players. The book consists of 11 chapters on various topics including the game of poker, true-life Internet player profiles, how to value pocket cards, calculating pocket cards, poker tells, poker traps, free money, how to spot cheats and auto-playing bots on the Internet, legal matters, Goldman's top 15 online poker-playing tips, and a poker dictionary.
The book, 161 pages including a preface and dictionary, also contains information on how to get started playing online, how to profile players and how to get the most out of poker bonuses online.
Overall, it is a nifty book for neophyte players who want to learn a little more about the specifics of online poker, or just need some help calculating odds and outs. Advanced and skilled players may want to look for another way to improve their game.
