Love is in the cards at Purple Lounge Poker

Love is in the cards at Purple Lounge Poker.

For an online poker player, it's not easy to find love as you sit home alone, staring at your computer screen concentrating on making the right decisions for each hand. Purple Lounge Poker is hoping to change that.

While the poker world has been mostly male dominated, female memberships at sites have been growing. Purple Lounge Poker is taking advantage of that to roll out freerolls aimed at the singles market.

The first "Meet your Match" freeroll began today at 7 p.m. (GMT), and will run weekly from this day forward.

This isn't the first time Purple Lounge Poker has brought the opposite sexes to the felt on purpose. The poker sites staged a "Battle of the Sexes" tournament series.

According to Purple Lounge Poker, despite the serious battles being had at the tables, some players are finding that a heads-up table for two at the site kindles the flames of love just as surely as a candle-lit dinner.

"Over the past year, we've put countless couples together. Players meet up in the heat of a Hold'em tournament or get chatting at a cash game and find a common love of all things poker," said Purple Lounge VIP Manager Helen Brown.

The site even had a couple in Sweden find love and get married.

"With the best female to male ratio in the business, we're betting more matches made in heaven are just around the corner at Purple Lounge," Brown said.
