Who is “True Geordie”?

For those unfamiliar with Brian ‘True Geordie’ Davis and what his content is about, he started out creating videos about his home football team, Newcastle United, before expanding with a podcast - The True Geordie Podcast, True News, where he discusses real news stories from around the world with well known guest stars, The Kick Off, a weekly football talk show which he live streams.

In the world of poker content, he created The Showdown, a talk show combined with a home game with his long time friends, child actor turned football Youtuber Rory Jennings and Manchester United fanatic and Youtuber Adam McKola. Both Rory and Adam will also be heading to Barcelona to participate in a live version of the show.

On the regular version of The Showdown, the multi-talented content creator and his friends battle it out against each other for the entertainment of their Twitch audience. The Showdown features guest stars from all walks of life, who all sit down together alongside Brian, Rory and Adam for a friendly home game. Offering interesting and varied conversation, friendly banter, exciting poker hands, fantastic production value and a captivating experience, The Showdown has developed a large fan base, providing entertainment on multiple fronts. Fans range from established poker players, to football lovers who have never played a single hand. Brian and his friends are fantastic ambassadors for the game, and their big personalities are a breath of fresh air amongst regular poker streams.

True Geordie said he has always dreamed of enabling fans from around the world to come and see the show in real life, and this event in Barcelona is the perfect opportunity to realise that dream!

The Showdown: Barcelona Edition

The special edition of the popular show will be a 6 player Sit and Go, where players will start with 10,000 chips and blinds at 100/200. The levels will be 15 minutes long, and there will be 2 optional rebuys per player, but players may only rebuy if they lose their entire stack. After an hour of play the live tournament becomes a freezeout and any unused stacks will be added to players' existing stacks. Then it’s on to crown a winner!
