JackPoker, for instance, is running its its Winter Games Festival Series until February 15, as a way of closing out the first month of the poker year. It’s a a multi-week tournament circuit centered around a $2,500,000 guaranteed prize pool and relatively affordable buy-ins.

Winter Games Festival Series Breakdown

The Winter Games started this Monday, January 26 and will be running across the three weeks of play, until February 15. During the up and coming weeks, the festival cycles through tournament formats that let players jump in whenever it fits their schedule. One of the biggest draws is the focus on Progressive Knockout (PKO) games. In a PKO, every player at the table carries a bounty on their head. When you bust someone, you collect a cash reward immediately, and a portion of your own bounty increases.

The series also opted- for into Re-entry, Re-buy, and Add-on structures to keep the tables full. These options allow players to return to a tournament after an early exit or top up their stacks during the first few levels.

As far as those affordable entry fees go, they range from a modest $5 up to $200+, making it pretty diverse.

The Winter Games Festival ticks another box when it comes to the way rewards are handled. Since knockouts pay out instantly, you don’t have to sweat out a long bubble or wait for the final table to see a return on your buy-in.
