PokerStars has decided to add yet another first to its women’s poker initiatives — this time in the online arena. On Sunday, June 8, the site will run its first-ever women’s-only online tournament for players in North America, giving women a new route to qualify for the live tables at NAPT 2025 Women’s Event in Las Vegas.

The move only builds on PokerStars’ growing focus on accessible and inclusive events, especially as the North American Poker Tour (NAPT) 2025 shapes up to be one of the biggest editions yet.

A North American First With Vegas on the Line

Set for 8:00 PM (ET) on June 8, the Summer Stacks Women’s Sunday will be held across all three of PokerStars’ North American player pools. In case you’re not quite sure what that entails, the player pool includes:

The tournament comes with a $30 buy-in, and top finishers will be playing for more than just a prize pool. The first and second-place finishers in each player pool will win a $600 prize package, which includes:

  • $330 buy-in to the NAPT Women’s Event in Las Vegas
  • $270 travel expenses

There’s no real-money qualifier history like this for women players in the region, marking this as a significant step forward for both accessibility and representation in online poker. And since it’s part of the broader Summer Stacks 2025 series, players could also benefit from other incentives like freerolls and second-chance entries.

A Bigger Spotlight on Women at NAPT 2025

This online initiative feeds directly into an expanded NAPT 2025 women’s schedule in Las Vegas, where PokerStars is stepping things up in multiple ways:

  • The NAPT Women’s Event, scheduled for November 9–10, will now offer a $50,000 guarantee, up from $30,000 last year.
  • A new NAPT Women’s High Roller has been added for November 10, with a $1,100 buy-in.

These changes come on the back of strong turnout at previous women’s events and an ongoing effort to create (even) more meaningful opportunities for women in live poker.

NAPT 2025 Up Close

Just like previous editions, this year’s NAPT will return to Resorts World Las Vegas from November 3–12, following a highly successful 2024 edition. Last year’s Main Event drew 895 entries and generated a $4.3 million prize pool, and PokerStars is hoping to go even bigger this time around.

Highlights from the 2025 schedule include:

  • $5,300 NAPT Main Event (Nov 6–12) – $3 million guaranteed
  • PokerStars Open (Nov 3–6) – $1,100, $500K GTD
  • NAPT Super High Roller (Nov 5–7) – $50,000 buy-in
  • NAPT Mystery Bounty (Nov 10–12) – $550, $200K GTD
  • NAPT High Roller (Nov 10–12) – $10,300 buy-in
