Losing Hands Now Count: JackPoker Starts $1M Muertos Leaderboard

JackPoker has taken a different approach to its November promotions. Instead of rewarding tight play or leaderboard crushers, the Muertos Leaderboard gives points for something every poker player experiences: losing hands. Whether it’s a mistimed call or a failed all-in, every misstep in a real-money cash game could still push you closer to a cash prize and there’s $1,000,000 guaranteed riding on the outcome.

The leaderboard, running from October 27 to November 16, spans three weekly rounds and wraps up with a $250K random prize drop.

We’ll take a closer look at it with this article.

How It Works

The Muertos Leaderboard scoring system rewards players for playing aggressively:

  • 1 point for every call or bet that results in a loss
  • 2 points for every lost all-in

Raises don’t count this time, only actions where your chips are committed.

Leaderboard points are going to accumulate throughout each weekly round and reset when the next round begins. At the end of these three rounds, a separate $250,000 is going to be distributed randomly among all active participants.

Prize Structure and Weekly Rounds

Each of the three weekly leaderboard rounds carries $250,000 GTD, broken down by stakes:

LevelGTD
Low Stakes (0.1–0.5)$20,000 per week
Medium Stakes (1–4)$50,000 per week
High Stakes (10–20)$180,000 per week

At the end of the promotion, another $250,000 will be awarded randomly among players who logged real-money activity during the event:

  • Low: $50,000
  • Medium: $80,000
  • High: $120,000

So far, some names are making noise across the leaderboard after Week 1. In the high-stakes category, TLongfei leads with 2,465 points and has banked $25,200 in instant cash. Over in the medium-stakes bracket, FUTUEsin00 sits at the top with 3,596 points, good for a $7,000 reward. And in the low-stakes leaderboard, MRshelby has pulled ahead with an impressive 5,275 points, securing a $2,800 payout.
