GGPoker Launches Online Poker Millionaires Docuseries This Week

While the world is definitely not running low on poker content right now, GGPoker doesn’t really seem to care. Just this week, the online poker giant announced the premiere of Online Poker Millionaires, a new docuseries that digs a little deeper into players who’ve turned their digital cards into real-world success. The first episode premieres this Wednesday, November 12, on the official GGPoker YouTube channel, following the trailer release two days earlier.

As always, you’ll find everything you need to know about the series right here.

Inside the Online Poker Millionaires

The series, produced in collaboration with POKERfilms, explores the upper tier of online poker. Each episode zeros in on different high-stakes professional, showing viewers what it’s actually like to compete for life-changing sums from a laptop.

The debut episode follows Alex Theologis, a name that’s going to be familiar to a lot of GGPoker regulars. Right now, Theologis has over $9 million in tournament winnings and both GGMillion$ and WSOP titles on his résumé, making him a first class looking glass into the reality of life as an online pro.

Director Mike Bailey said he wanted the series to cut through the myth and show the people who “live real lives behind the monitors,” saying many of these players avoid the spotlight despite competing at the highest levels.

Launch Week

The rollout began on Monday, November 10, when the series trailer dropped on GGPoker’s official YouTube channel. You can have a sneak peek of that below:

Today, Theologis is going to be joining Jeff Gross as a guest commentator on the GGMillion$ broadcast at 18:15 UTC and then Episode 1 premieres on tomorrow, November 12, at 17:00 UTC/12:00 EST, followed by a Reddit AMA with Theologis on Thursday, where fans can ask about the filming process and his path in online poker.

Since the series premier is all but here, we’ll leave you with this titbit from Theologis, summing it up better than we ever could:

Alex Theologis

Online poker let me build a life I never thought was possible when I started out. It’s tough sometimes, but I wouldn’t trade this job for anything. I just want people who watch Online Poker Millionaires to get a real, honest look at what it means to be a professional player.
