Level 9: 500/1,000 (1,000)
Antoine Degiorgio jammed for 7,700 from the button and was called by Tomasz Brzezinski from the big blind.
"Unlucky!" Degiorgio said to Brzezinski with a huge smile before he turned over his cards.
Antoine Degiorgio: 9 6
Tomasz Brzezinski: 10 10
"Sixty-nine!" Degiorgio said with a laugh.
Most of the table laughed as the 6 6 10 rolled out on the flop. The always good-spirited and fun Degiorgio improved to trips but was drawing to one out to quads as Brzezinski improved to a full house.
Degiorgio's Day 1a was over after the K turn and the 7 river completed the board and he shared with PokerListings rather than re-entering today he would get back in action tomorrow for Day 1b. Meanwhile, Brzezinski was up to 90,000 in chips after the hand.
Degiorgio gave us a bit of background after the hand. He shared the duo played together plenty of times before including a charity event that raised €15,000. During that charity event, Degiorgio said he eliminated Brzezinski about 10 times and said each time he was behind and sucked out. Unfortunately, that didn't work for him this time despite a flop that normally would.
