Level 6: 250/500 (500)
We caught up with a hand with more than 10,000 in the pot before the 9 2 8 was dealt on the flop. Brian Calleja and Shanmugasundaram Jeyamohan checked before Demajo Balzan bet 5,000.
"All-in!" Calleja announced as he jammed his stack of 16,800.
Jeyamohan promptly folded before Balzan took a moment to think.
"Yeah, I call," Balzan eventually responded.
Brian Calleja: 5 5
Demajo Balzan: K 7
Calleja would have been ahead if the hand ended there but Balzan had tons of outs with both of his cards live along with a flush draw and a backdoor straight draw. Neither the 2 turn nor the 4 river were cards Balzan wanted to see and Calleja doubled up to over 40,000 after winning the hand.
Shortly after, the tournament progressed to Level 7 with blinds at 300/600 with a big blind ante of 600. After this level, players will go on a 60-minute dinner break.
