Ryan Young
Some people may have complained that six $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em bracelet events at the 2007 World Series of Poker watered down the significance of being a bracelet winner. However, one young player was certainly glad they stretched it out after taking down the fifth of the tournaments to win a bracelet of his own.
Ryan Young, an aspiring poker pro from Torrance, Calif., was the winner of the event. He outlasted a field of 2,541 players to take home a top prize of $615,955.
He may be a young player, but that wasn’t his first poker accomplishment: He had a cash earlier in the Series and a cash in the 2005 WSOP as well.
Young started out mainly playing poker on the Internet. But he told PokerListings.com the action online has died out somewhat, and he’s focusing on playing more live.
Now that he’s got a WSOP bracelet, he can expect to be a much bigger target at the events he does attend now.
