No Yang in Macau: visa issue stops the champ

Jerry Yang
Jerry Yang didn't have the visa he needed to fly to Hong Kong.

Jerry Yang didn't show up to play in the APPT Macau. As outlined in PokerListings.com reporter Owen Laukannen's blog here, the world champion wasn't allowed to fly to Hong Kong due to visa issues.

Yang is a permanent resident of the United States, but still holds refugee status there, and thus needs a visa to enter Hong Kong.

Not having a visa, Yang was turned back at the gates, and forced to remain in the United States.

The poker world will thus have to wait for the comeback of the 2007 World Series of Poker Main Event champion.

The action in Macau continues without Yang, however, and the $2,500 main event is already under way. Check the Live Tournaments Section here at PokerListings.com for the latest live updates, photos and results.
