Daily 3-Bet: Ivey League Ends, Raszi Shocker, Leo Gets Wild
The PokerListings Daily 3-Bet is a floppy hat, an SPF 50 and just a hint of pink on your nose after a perfect day in the afternoon poker news sun.
Have something you'd like to see in a future 3-Bet? Tell us about it in the comments.
Today in the 3-Bet we find the end of the Ivey League, Lex Veldhuis gets his painful wish and Leo Margets gets in touch with her wild side.
1) Ivey League, Over
it was headlined by two of the most famous names in poker, had a lineup of impressive and talented coaches producing solid poker training videos and, you know, a catchy name that sells itself.
Still, Phil Ivey's Ivey League poker training site has decided to call it quits for new material:
As of May 1st we will no longer be posting new video content. The video library will remain online as we process prorated refunds...— Ivey League (@IveyLeague) April 13, 2017
We would like to thank everyone who was a part of Ivey League and wish everyone the best with their poker journey’s going forward.— Ivey League (@IveyLeague) April 13, 2017
Tough business these days, poker training.
It's not the first of Ivey's side projects to not quite take off as expected, though, which might indicate the powerful position Ivey has held for much of the past decade as the game's best player has begun to fade.
Might not, though. It could just be as simple as Ivey's increased time away from the WSOP and his frustrating, multi-million dollar edge-sorting cases.
Curious to see what come next for Phil - starting, we hope, with a big presence at this summer's WSOP.
2) Lex Gets Skewered
Whether he asked for it or not, that's still gross ...
His expression here really says it all for all of those moments when we just can't believe that card dropped on the river. Got a similar story? Tell us about it in the comments.
3) Leo Margets Gets Back to Nature
Poker player. Author. Nutrition and Health Coach. Fitness fanatic. Traveler. Cat Photographer. Battle of Malta favorite.
No matter the label, Spanish poker pro Leo Margets is a force of nature who packs a ton of joy and enthusiasm into a small package. And into everything she pursues.
That includes, it seems, disconnecting from the poker world every now and then and, uhh, indulging her wild side.
If you've yet to check out her new book (and your Spanish is pretty solid), check it out here.
