The World Poker Tour has finally launched an online poker site that lives up to the WPT name.
Since being established in the early 2000s the live WPT has awarded millions to poker players around the world and become one of the most celebrated tours in poker.
Despite their dominance of the live poker world the organization has been slow to get involved with online poker. The tour initially played around with a subscription-based ClubWPT that U.S. players could play.
Then they moved to a full-fledged poker client on the Cryptologic network but they eventually shuttered that site.
Finally WPT teamed up with industry experts PartyPoker to create their own online poker site in 2010.
The result is WPT Poker, a first rate poker-client with sharp graphics, interesting promotions and a massive player base.
The software offers a variety of games including Texas Hold’em, Omaha, Seven-Card Stud, Omaha Hi-Lo and Seven-Card Stud Hi-Lo.
The site also offers a great rewards program for loyal players called Palladium Rewards, which can qualify a player for a variety of perks including straight up cash and tournament entries. Simply generate WPT Points and you’ll move up the Palladium status levels.
WPT Poker is actually a huge site because it piggybacks off another giant network so you shouldn’t have much trouble finding games, whether you prefer $.25/$.50 or $100 Sit & Goes.
Despite it’s huge size (or perhaps because of it) there are still some very soft games on WPT Poker, sometimes you just have to look a little harder. The games obviously get tougher as the stakes get higher.
If you’re an avid fan of the WPT television show you’ll likely enjoy the color and scheme of the WPT Poker tables and lobby. The only thing missing is Mike Sexton and Vince Van Patten providing commentary.

Bonus Code and Promotions
Exclusive WPT Poker bonus code for PokerListings players: PL100EN
Getting your bonus paid out is simple on WPT Poker. You just have to earn six times the bonus amount in WPT Points. You will also be paid out in 10 separate chunks.
You get two WPT Points for every $1 you contribute in cash game rake and two WPT Points for every $1 you contribute in tournament fees.
Players have 60 days to earn enough points to get their bonus.
The WPT Poker loyalty program is based on the number of WPT Points you’re able to generate.
The loyalty program has five levels including Bronze, Silver, Gold, Palladium and Palladium Elite.
Players who make it to Palladium Elite get bonuses like up to $50,000 in cash, 33% cashback and a $75,000 poker bonus so it’s certainly worth hitting the higher levels of VIP status.
Tournaments and Freerolls
WPT Poker is a fantastic place for tournament players as the site offers over $10 million in guaranteed tournaments every month.
Micro stakes and low stakes games tournaments are running 24/7 and medium stakes tournaments are running almost as frequently. You’ll find a massive amount of tournaments in both Sit & Go and Multi-Table Tournament formats. Like most poker sites you’ll have to wait your time for massive high stakes tournaments.
High stakes MTT grinders will enjoy the $300k guaranteed tournament that takes place once a week.
Freeroll players are also in luck as WPT Poker is currently a number of value-packed free-to-enter tournaments.
Of course WPT Poker is a fantastic place to qualify for live WPT events and you’ll find satellites for everything from WPT Prague to the WPT Championship at the Bellagio in Las Vegas.
Software and Graphics
The WPT Poker software is nothing to scoff at.
It’s stylish, if somewhat simple, reliable and packed with features including four-color decks, hand histories, deal-making, avatars, quick seat, training tables and advanced statistics.
Frenetic poker players will be happy to know that WPT Poker has enough horsepower under the hood to accommodate up to 12 tables simultaneously. The tables are also completely resizable.
You can also customize the look of the client with unique avatars, different table views and backgrounds.
Perhaps the biggest knock on the software is that there is no Mac version and no in-browser option for Linux users.
There are tons of soft games available on WPT Poker. We have a theory that the majority of new players are mostly fans of the TV show who have never played and have yet to learn a few poker fundamentals.
It works out for anyone who understands basic poker strategy and there are some great spots if you look for them.
It’s not exactly PartyPoker in 2005 soft but it’s very, very good. Be warned there are some sharks in the high stakes games who sometimes sink to the lower stakes in search of fresh prey.
WPT Poker is one of the many poker sites that also offers a full online casino. This is almost always a positive for poker players as it guarantees a group of rich individuals who have very little experience in poker but still like to play a hand or two.
