US Poker Fans to Play for Big Money in the PokerStars $5,000,000 SCOOP

Biggest doesn’t always mean best, but when it comes to real money online poker a key aspect of the game is how much money is up for grabs. This is true regardless of what the average poker fan is into, so if it’s Texas Hold'em or the even more cutthroat Omaha cash tables, for example, then poker rooms need to provide all stake levels, from micro to nosebleed.

The mighty PokerStars always delivers, catering for all kinds of player, and all bankroll sizes. If you prefer Sit & Go games, then at PokerStars you can check out the Spin & Go Lobby for a chance to win massive prizes for modest buy-ins.

And then we have, of course, online poker tournaments where - especially at PokerStars - the numbers need to be seen to be believed. With this in mind, the Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) returns to the US, boasting bigger numbers than ever, with a series high of $5 million in guaranteed prizes to play for across Low, Medium and High buy-in levels.

It’s great to see US poker fans being able to enjoy the game after spending so long in the wilderness over the years thanks to the implications of the dreaded Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA) of 2006. Indeed, those in Pennsylvania and the shared player pool of Michigan and New Jersey will be making the most of the action-packed schedule that kicks off on 17 March and runs right up to 3 April, with a massive 252 events taking place!

The $5 million in prizes will allocate over $3 million to players in the shared liquidity (SL) of Michigan and New Jersey, and more than $2 million to the Pennsylvania community, and by offering buy-ins from as little as $10 PokerStars yet again demonstrate the right everyman (and woman!) approach to poker. Moreover, with 600+ satellites starting at $1 this SCOOP is truly all-inclusive!

The series offers Casino Races per State, with a Leaderboard per liquidity that will award 90 trophies, with Champions at every level. Series highlights include a two-day Main Event with $300K GTD in SL and $200K GTD in PA, plus a $50 buy-in Mini Main Event and a $2,500 buy-in High Roller Main Event.

Severin Rasset, Managing Director of PokerStars in the US: "We're thrilled to announce our largest series guarantee ever to players in the US. We've made a concerted effort to ensure that this series is accessible to all players, by curating an inclusive schedule with a wide range of buy-ins. Our aim is to provide everyone with the opportunity to compete for a coveted SCOOP trophy.”
