Lucky package winners will need to make their own travel and accommodation arrangements. The $10,400 World Championship will take place on the 12th-18th of December 2022, and there will be 3 starting flights - Day 1a is on the 12th, Day 1b on the 13th and 1c on the 14th, with players being allowed one entry per starting flight. The tournament will last 6 days in total with the final table being filmed for TV, which will take place at the Esports Arena in Las Vegas on the 18th.
What else is happening during the World Championship?
WPT has two other tournaments on the schedule for this monstrous series - both of these mighty side events feature an astonishing $2 million guaranteed prize pool, and the Wynn sees the return of one of it’s most popular tournament formats to date - the Mystery Bounty.
The first event, appropriately named the “Prime Championship”, will take place before the Main Event. It will be a 4 day tournament, again featuring a televised final table from the Esports Arena. The $1100 Prime Championship will run from the 8th-12th of December, again with 3 starting flights spread across the first 3 days. This time however, players are entitled to as many reentries per flight as they wish.
The second featured event is the $1600 Mystery Bounty, a format which has drawn record numbers wherever and whenever it’s run! The demand for the inventive tournament style is massive and generally provides a buzz in the room that other tournaments simply can’t match. While bounties are traditionally the same value as each other, the Mystery Bounty concept does away with that tradition and instead, divides the bounty prize pool into a number of different value bounties, generally featuring one preposterous bounty at the top. When a player eliminates another player from the tournament, they then randomly draw a bounty from the pile, adding new layers of excitement to tournament poker!
The WPT Texas Hold'em Mystery Bounty will run from the 16th-19th, again with 3 starting flights with Day 1c, the final flight, taking place on the 18th. Again, players can take advantage of unlimited reentries. This means that almost everyone will get the chance to play, the only players who won’t be able to jump in to this mammoth event are those who have made it to Day 5 of the World Championship - a fine problem to have! This tournament will be a 2 day event, with the final day being the 19th.
