WSOP Welcomes Solana as Crypto Buy-Ins Make Their Vegas Debut
Table of Contents
Even before a single card was delt at the Horseshoe this year, the World Series of Poker announced some serious changes. Some, like the return of the series to ESPN, were welcomed with open arms, while others, most prominently the new dealer rating system, ran into some serious critique.
Now, after the first bracelets have found their new owners, the WSOP is making even more changes to its 2026 edition. Earlier in the week, the series announced its partnership with Solana to enable crypto buy-ins and stable-coin payouts during the event, while simultaneously welcoming Luxon Pay as the tournament’s official payment partner.
Here is what these fresh partnerships bring to the 2026 edition.
Solana Makes Its WSOP Entrance
On Wednesday, June 10, 2026, the WSOP ushered in a new era, announcing its partnership with the Solana Foundation, and effectively bringing cryptocurrency directly to the Vegas felt this season.
Those familiar with crypto will know Solana as a a high-performance blockchain with industry-leading transaction speeds and ultra-low costs. For poker, particularly the 2026 WSOP, this translates to players being able to purchase tournament ticket directly with cryptocurrency with zero processing fees.
The 2026 series in Vegas is the first step in this newly-announced collaboration, a way for the blockchain to dip its toes into the poker waters. The partnership is expected to expand during the 2026 WSOP Paradise in The Bahamas later this year, where players will be able to withdraw settlements in stable-coins on Solana.
As for the WSOP, they’re more then ready to welcome the cryptocurrency foundation with open arms, as echoed by Chief Executive Officer of WSOP, Ty Stewart:
We are incredibly proud to bring such an innovative and passionate community into the fold. Solana’s ecosystem, like the WSOP, constantly challenges conventions and remains laser-focused on the consumer experience.
Jim Walker, President of MoonPay Commerce, developed further on how the partnership was a natural fit:
Poker players have always lived at the forefront of innovation. They think in probabilities, move fast, and adopt the tools that give them an edge. Cryptocurrency is a natural fit.
Another Partnership as Luxon Pay Join the Fold
Parallel to the Solana announcement, the World Series of Poker shared that Luxon Pay would become the official payment partner for global WSOP events, meaning players can now buy into 2026 WSOP events through the WSOP LIVE app. This move was made possible by Luxon Pay partnering with Lexicon Bank earlier this spring, thus bringing eligible US players into its fold.

As a way of celebrating the launch and subsequent collaboration, Luxon Pay is running a raffle where one fortunate customer will win a $10,000 seat to the 2026 WSOP Main Event. To earn a raffle entry, all you need to do is buy into any WSOP 2026 event in Vegas using until June 29. The following day, June 30, the raffle winner will be revealed.
