WSOP Super Circuit Heads to Cyprus for the First Time This October

In 2025, the World Series of Poker is heading somewhere it’s never been before. From October 9 to 21, 2025, the WSOP Super Circuit will land in North Cyprus for its first-ever stop on the island, hosted where else but the Merit Royal Diamond Hotel and Spa. The venue, already a common name to many poker regulars, will now join the WSOP’s global footprint by awarding 18 official WSOP Circuit Gold Rings over the course of the 13-day festival.

With an already established reputation for lavish poker production and large field sizes, the Merit team has been building up to this moment — most recently hosting the Mediterranean Poker Party, which beat its own $5M guarantee. Now, the WSOP brand has decided to take a piece of this poker island.

What to Expect from the WSOP Super Circuit Cyprus

While a full schedule is still to come, the core details are already locked in. The festival will feature a $5,300 buy-in Main Event, backed by a $5,000,000 guaranteed prize pool. It’s one of the largest guarantees the WSOP Circuit has put up in recent years and makes this stop one of the most ambitious on the WSOP Super Circuit international calendar.

Beyond the Main Event, tournament offerings will include:

  • A Mini Main for players seeking a more accessible price point
  • Four Pot-Limit Omaha events
  • A Mystery Bounty tournament
  • High Roller and Super High Roller events for those in search of deeper stakes
  • Buy-ins ranging from $1,000 to $10,000

All WSOP Circuit ring events will be eligible to award points toward the Global Casino Championship leaderboard, giving players an added incentive to chase titles throughout the stop.

Satellites, Structure, and Setting

Players looking to secure a seat at a discount will be able to enter online qualifiers on the GGPoker Network, with satellite tournaments expected to begin later this year. These will offer entry packages for a fraction of the direct buy-in, making the series more accessible to a broader player base.

As for the setting, Merit Poker’s facilities in North Cyprus are no strangers to the live poker spotlight. With large-scale ballrooms, an all-inclusive resort model, and previous experience hosting events like the Triton Series, European Poker Tour, and MPP, the venue is already one of the most active stops in European poker.

Songul Bekem, President of Merit Poker, highlighted the significance of the new partnership:

Songul Bekem

This marks the first time that a WSOP event has been held at Merit, and the team are very excited at the prospect of hosting such a prestigious series which will include two weekends. We have the biggest ballrooms outside of the USA that are capable of hosting a series of such magnitude.

📅 The full schedule and structure are expected to be released soon. Until then, players can begin planning for what’s shaping up to be one of the most anticipated WSOP Circuit stops of 2025.

A Rising Destination for Poker in Europe

The announcement of WSOP Super Circuit Cyprus comes on the heels of the Mediterranean Poker Party’s successful conclusion. That series saw its own $5K Main Event exceed a $5M guarantee and even outpaced the EPT Monte Carlo Main Event in total entries.

Mediterranean Poker Party MPP 2025

It’s a sign that North Cyprus is fast becoming a serious contender among Europe’s top live poker destinations. Players like Espen Jørstad, Hossein Ensan, and Stoyan Madanzhiev have already shown their preference for the island stop.

With that kind of lifestyle, a growing field of elite pros, and now WSOP gold rings on the line, Cyprus is gearing up to be a major fixture on the live poker circuit.

In the Meantime: What’s Next on the WSOP Super Circuit Calendar?

While players await the full schedule for the Cyprus stop in October, attention now turns to the WSOP Super Circuit Tallinn, which returns to the Hilton Tallinn Park Hotel and Olympic Park Casino from July 25 through August 3, 2025.

Back by popular demand following a successful 2024 edition, this year’s series features 12 official WSOPC ring events, alongside dozens of side events and satellite tournaments. The line-up offers something for every type of player—from mixed games to big-buy-in No-Limit Hold’em showdowns.

Here are some of the key highlights from the 2025 WSOP Circuit Tallinn ring event schedule:
