Sunday Dynasty Hits $100K as PokerStars on FanDuel Updates Weekly Schedule

Ever since its North American launch earlier this spring, PokerStars on FanDuel seems determined to make more of a name for itself in the States. It started with the Ignite Series, the first original one to premier on the new platform and now it’s moved on to making the Sunday grind bigger.

Over the weekend, the poker room announced its two flagship Sunday tournaments, Sunday Dynasty and Sunday Storm, would be getting an upgrade — here’s what that entails.

Sunday Dynasty and Sunday Storm Get Even Bigger

Unlike the Ignite Series, Sunday Dynasty and Sunday Shield have been PokerStars staples for more than a minute and as such, both are receiving a boost in their respective guarantees.

The first of the two Sunday majors, the $100 Sunday Dynasty took the biggest leap, moving on from an apparently modest $75,000 to a $100,000 guarantee for upcoming Sunday editions.

On the other hand, the $500 Sunday Storm received a more modest pay bump, going from $40,000 to $50,000 in guarantees.

While the two increases aren’t equally as large, they are equally as expected since both Sunday majors went well over their guarantees the previous week. As other news outlets reported, the $100 Sunday Dynasty drew in 931 entries, which generated more than $85,000 in guarantees. The $500 Sunday Storm, on the other hand, racked up over $65,000 in guarantees well surpassing its planned prize pool.

Another Debut Tournament on PokerStars on FanDuel

PokerStars on FanDuel The Thrill

Apart from raising its stakes over the weekend, PokerStars on FanDuel also introduced another debut tournament to its Thursday lineup — The Thrill.

The newest Thursday headliner comes equipped with a $300 buy-in and a $25,000 GTD. Its smaller counterpart, aptly named the Mini-Thrill follows close behind with a more accessible $50 buy-in and $12,500 GTD.
