r/poker Goes To Prague: GGPoker and r/poker Team Up to Send One Redditor to WSOP Europe
Most people use Reddit to argue about hand histories or complain about bad beats. We’ve written about it enough times to know. However, this time, we’re writing about something different: for one lucky player, a few clicks on the world’s biggest poker subreddit could lead to a €10 million prize pool in Prague. GGPoker and the legendary r/poker community have officially joined forces to offer a “free-to-play” path to the 2026 World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) Main Event.
The collaboration is aptly titled “r/poker Goes To Prague and we’re here to give you all the details you might need.
The Dream: r/poker Goes To Prague
By the looks of it, the 2026 WSOP Europe is set to be a historic one. For the first time, the series is moving to the Hilton Prague (in partnership with King’s Casino) and bringing 15 gold bracelet events the Czech capital. The actual series begins, March 31, 2026, with the Main Event kicking off on April 3. So, how does Reddit fit into this?
r/poker Goes To Prague plans to send one Redditor to Prague. That entails a full €5,000 Main Event seat, plus $1,000 in travel expenses to cover the trip to the Czech capital and no price tag to enter to enter the collaboration.
The Battle Plan: Four Heats, One Finale
The path to the 2026 WSOPE is far from a single-shot lottery. It’s been designed as a month long tournament where GGPoker will host four weekly qualifying heats throughout February.
The Schedule (All times 20:00 UTC):
- Heat #1: Thursday, February 5
- Heat #2: Thursday, February 12
- Heat #3: Thursday, February 19
- Heat #4: Thursday, February 26
Each heat is a $2 freebuy tournament (meaning the first entry is free, with optional rebuys) and is capped at 10,000 players. To move on, you just need to survive. The top 50 players from each heat will punch their ticket to the Grand Finale on March 5, 2026, where a 200-player field will play down to one ultimate winner.
The Reddit “Secret Sauce”: Passwords and Community
In a move to keep the contest “for the community, by the community,” the tournaments are password-protected. To get in, you’ll need to keep a close eye on the r/poker and r/GGPoker subreddits.
The passwords will be dropped exactly two hours before each heat begins.
The Fine Print
GGPoker is making one thing very clear: this isn’t a “take the money and run” situation. The winner of the package is expected to be the face of r/poker in Prague.
Important Note: The winner must confirm their ability to travel and play within 72 hours of the Grand Finale. If the winner can’t make the trip, the prize rolls down to the 2nd place finisher. This is about living the dream, not padding a bankroll.
To be eligible, players must have a fully verified (KYC) GGPoker account and be playing from a regulated market. Apart from that, all we can say is good luck!
