We met you during the Irish Poker Open earlier this year—you brought such high energy to the room. Do you think your personality gives you an edge at the tables?

It was such a pleasure meeting you all at the Irish Poker Open — what an unforgettable event!

And yes, 100% I truly believe that bringing high, positive energy gives me an edge, not just in poker, but in life. Both are full of ups and downs, small setbacks before big wins. Having the right mindset. Staying optimistic, focused, and open-minded helps me navigate the swings and stay sharp in these high-pressure moments.

At the tables, my energy isn’t just for show; it keeps me dialed in, throws opponents off, and turns the grind into something I love. My personality isn’t just part of the game; it’s part of my strategy.

Let’s rewind to WPT Prime Montreal. You turned a $55 satellite into a C$50K score. What went through your mind when you realised you were deep in a major final table?

When I realised how deep I was, the emotions hit me all at once: excitement, nerves, and pure adrenaline. I was trying to stay composed, but inside, I was shaking. This wasn’t just any final table… it was the moment I’d envisioned for years.

To see that childhood dream become reality, starting from a $55 online satty? Surreal. WPT Global made it possible, as I always say, on to the next one!

You’ve got an inspiring story — from running your own moving business to becoming a sponsored poker player. What keeps you grounded through all this growth?

What keeps me grounded through the growth is gratitude and purpose. I never forget where I started. Every satisfied customer, every successful move, and every deep run at the tables reminds me that hard work pays off, but it also humbles me.

Running a moving company taught me discipline, consistency, and the value of showing up every day, no matter what. Poker sharpened my patience, resilience, and mental toughness. Both worlds test you, but they also teach you to stay level-headed whether you’re winning big or grinding through tough spots.

And honestly? The support from my team, my community, and the people who believed in me from day one that’s what truly keeps me grounded. Success is never just a solo game.

You mentioned at the Irish Poker Open that you were thinking of starting a YouTube channel. Any updates? What kind of content do you envision creating?

YES—I finally launched my YouTube channel: @TopNotchPoker! So far, I’ve posted some big online final tables and WPT Global streams, and there’s a lot more coming — live vlogs, behind-the-scenes content, and full tournament journeys from the live poker streets.

Everyone sees the results, but I want to show the process. I’ve got a story to tell, one that I think a lot of people can relate to, whether they play poker or not.

Recently, you put out a call on social media for a content creator to help guide your journey into the virtual world of poker content. What kind of collaborator are you looking for — and how important is storytelling to your brand?

I appreciate this! Yes — I recently put out a call for a content creator because I’m looking to take my poker content to the next level. I’m searching for someone who can edit reels, streams, and live vlogs, help build my online presence, and bring my poker journey to life through dynamic, engaging storytelling.

My life —especially in poker — can feel like a movie at times. The highs, the lows, the behind-the-scenes grind… it’s all part of the story. And storytelling is core to my brand. I don’t just want to show hands—I want to show the hustle, the mindset, and the real moments that people can connect with.

If you’re someone who’s creative, passionate about content, and understands the vibe of the poker world, I’d love to collaborate.

Do you feel like there’s a gap in poker content right now that you can fill — maybe with a more relatable, grinder-on-the-rise perspective?

Yes, 100%. I think there’s a real gap in poker content right now. A lot of what we see is just hand histories and final table highlights, which are great, but they don’t tell the whole story.

I want to bring something more real and relatable to the table. I’m not just here to showcase results. I want to connect with the community, inspire others, and show that this journey is possible for anyone willing to grind, believe in themselves, and push through the adversity.

If my story can help even one person chase their dream or find motivation in tough times, then it’s all worth it.

You’ve now played in iconic venues like Playground and international stops like Dublin. What live event is next on your radar? Vegas? Barcelona?

I’ve absolutely fallen in love with the European poker scene—it’s electric. And I’m excited to say that a few bucket list destinations are officially on the calendar this year: Barcelona, Malta, and Brazil are all locked in!

Vegas is definitely on the radar too — ideally for the WPT in December or maybe another shot at the WSOP in the Bahamas.

And of course, I’m lucky to have one of the best poker venues in the world right in my backyard — Playground Poker Club. It’s where this whole journey kicked off, and it always feels like home.

Finally, what does success look like for Marc Lavergne in 2025 — not just in terms of results, but as a growing personality in the poker and content space?

Success in 2025, for me, goes far beyond just results at the table. It’s about continuing to level up my mindset, share my journey with honesty, and provide real value to others chasing their own dreams.

I want to create content that shows not just the wins, but also how I navigate the tough times—because that’s where real growth happens.

At the end of the day, I believe the true measure of success is happiness, and happiness comes from gratitude, discipline, and staying aligned with your purpose. So as long as I’m growing, staying grounded, and lifting others up along the way, I’m exactly where I’m meant to be.
