EPT Barcelona 2025: Bernardo Neves Wins the €10,300 EPT High Roller For €845,200

Whilst Thomas Eychenne was battling his way to becoming EPT Barcelona 2025 Main Event Champion under the lights of the feature table at Casino Barcelona, the €10,300 High Roller found a new champion in Portugal’s Bernardo Neves. Neves bested a field of 500 in one of the schedule’s most prestigious events, which regularly features some of poker’s crème de la crème.

The field of 500 was comprised of 376 unique entrants and 124 re-entries over the event’s three-day run. There were big names in abundance: 2025 Irish Open First and Second place finishers Simon Wilson and Umberto Ruggieri, EPT Regular Julien Sitbon, Chess Grandmaster and High Stakes Crusher Ottomar Ladva, EPT Champions Patrik Jaros and Mats Ullereng, David Coleman, who’s had four second place finishes and two cashes at this stop alone, and Jesse Yaginuma, the winner who “didn’t win” the WSOP $1,500 Millionaire Maker this past summer.

Ultimately, it was Neves who rose to the top, besting Lithuania’s Vladas Tamasauskas heads-up to take down the €845,200 first-place prize, the largest share of the €4,850,000 prize pool. This is Neves’ largest single score in his poker career, eclipsing his previous best, which came in the $2,200 No Limit Hold’em Turbo Closer Event in the Bahamas in December 2023. There, he scooped $166,000 for the win. This was Neves’ third cash in Barcelona this year; he cashed the €5,300 Main Event for €11,300 and banked €71,350 for a ninth-place finish in the €1,650 PokerStars Open Main Event. Safe to say it has been a prosperous trip for Neves, as his total tournament earnings for the trip total to €927,850! He adds this prestigious title to his collection of hardware, which currently consists of a WSOP Bracelet and a WSOPC Ring.

Tamasauskas took home €711,400 for his efforts, another new high score. His second-place success usurps his fourth-place finish in the €10,350 WSOPE Main Event in 2022, where he scored €438,97, as his best result.

While out on duty for pokerlistings.com in Barcelona, Václav “LemonPoker” Dušek caught up with Neves after his victory in the €10,300 High Roller.

Václav “LemonPoker” Dušek: Congratulations for winning over €800,000! Who are you here with?

Bernardo Neves

My wife, my uncle, my brother, my parents and grandparents are on the phone with me now, all my family are with me.

Václav “LemonPoker” Dušek: How was your journey? I know that heads-up match, it was very tense, was it a tough game?

Bernardo Neves

Yeah, very, very, very tough, heads-up. Congrats to Vlada, he’s an amazing poker player, but today, I’m the happiest one. I’m very, very, very happy.

Václav “LemonPoker” Dušek: Do you want to give any particular shout-outs?

Bernardo Neves

No names, it’s better that way, but the One Poker Team, Muller, all my staff, my team, and I love this, my family, all my friends. Thank you so much for all the support. I’m so grateful.

The One Poker Team

As alluded to in his interview shoutouts, Neves is a crucial part of the One Poker Team, serving as Head Coach. On the front page of The One Poker Team website, it is clear what they are aiming to achieve: “take players to the highest level, focusing on technical, strategic, mental, and performance development.”

One Mentality

The website features Weekly Technical Classes to help students elevate their game to new levels, and considering Neves’ recent success, it seems like a good team to be a part of. Another feature is the Weekly Mind Coach meetings, which are hosted by Marcelo Muller, a renowned mind coach.

One Office

Another tool at your disposal would be One Office, a software that tracks progress, goals, and milestones, as well as generating reports for your session results. One Office also allows access to One Academy, a library of all the recorded content and classes available on demand.

  1. Application: Send in the data and hand histories to the One Poker Team.
