Dylan Bradley Wins the £1 100 UKIPT London Main Event!
Following its last stop in Brighton earlier this month, which saw Benjamin ”Spraggy” Spragg winning the £1 100 Main Event for £69 120, it was time for the United Kingdom and Ireland Poker Tour (UKIPT) to visit London. 374 players visited the Hippodrome Casino to participate in the Main Event in hunt for glory and fame. When all was said and done on Sunday 24th, it was Dylan Bradley who could lift the trophy and titrate himself as a champion on the UKIPT!
His First Ever Live Cash
The 22 year old Brit can’t be disappointed with the £71 650 price check; prior to his win Dylan had never cashed in a live poker tournament. For sure it was a festive atmosphere at the Hippodrome Casino with the big screen football and PokerStars-provided drinks while the final table fought it out.
Dylan entered the final table with 5th most in chips. At a fairly early stage, he found himself all in against South Korea’s Doyhun Kim. They had the same hand with Dylan holding A Q and Doyhun A Q , but the runout 3 10 6 10 9 saw Dylan improving to a flush, seeing Doyhun leaving in 8th. Not long after that, Dylan flipped with A K against Oscar Kirby Hogarty’s Q Q , once more coming out on top and busting Oscar.
From there on, fellow countryman Daniel Bedson was responsible for a lot of the action on the table, sending Eliot Granjon and Mantas Urbonas to the rail. Daniel was later himself eliminated in 4th by Bulgarian Bojidar Boiadijev. Going into the three-handed stage of the final table, Dylan held two thirds of the chips in play and improved his stack after finishing off Bojidar.
Thus, it was time for Heads Up between Dylan and Stephen Cherry, another UK resident. Dylan at this time had a huge chip lead and in only a couple of hands the players where all in on the 6 7 8 flop. Cherry was a 52% favourite with his Q 8 , however, the board ran out 5 Q turning Dylan and his 9 7 a straight, meaning Stephen had finished second and Dylan’s first ever live cash resulted in him going all the way!
Next Stop: Edinburgh
The UKIPT now takes a month break to prepare for its next stop in Edinburgh. The tour will visit the Scottish capital between the 24th and 29th of September, with the £1 100 Main Event starting the 26th. After his win in London, Dylan said ”I might start to play more tournaments now!”. Maybe we will see him at the Genting Casino Fountain Park in Edinburgh, going for the back-to-back win?
This is the second to last stop of the UKIPT in 2023, seeing as it will go out with a bang in Notthingham in November.
