Brian Klindrup Stands Tallest in Eureka Hamburg Cup

Brian Klindrup Stands Tallest in Eureka Hamburg Cup

The Eureka Poker Tour by PokerStars seems to be an appreciated feature in the live poker schedule for players all across the globe. The circuit had its first stop for the year in Rozvadov back in March, and in September it was time to head over to Hamburg for stop number two in 2023.

During the eight-day festival – which is still going on – three live poker tournaments will be played: Eureka Main Event, Eureka High Roller, and Eureka Cup. The last one is the only one which has already finished, seeing a Dane taking home the trophy!

First Title for Brian

Denmark’s Brian Klindrup was one out of the 609 unique players to participate in the Eureka Cup in Hamburg. Prior to the event, Klindrup had no more than five results on his Hendon Mob, the most impressive one being a second place finish in Bratislava during a Cyprus Series of Poker event.

Klindrup entered day 1A of the event and after a hard day’s work, he could bag 553 000 chips and ascertain that he was at the top of the chip leaderboard. He, together with 90 other players, returned to day 2, all players guaranteed a chunk of the €173 565 prize pool. The Horsens-resident bullied his opponents well with his big stack, and his strategy took him all the way to the final table.

Deal on the Final Table

The nine players arrive to the final table chasing the trophy. Considering seven of them where from Germany, the odds were fairly good for the Eureka Hamburg Cup trophy to see a home owner. It would be up to Klindrup as well as Poland’s Sam Cichy, if the trophy would come to leave Germany.

Four of the final table players fell, and remaining in the field were five players, all apparently eager to secure as much money as possible. Such, they decided to do a five-way deal, not anything you see too often on the live poker scene. After the deal was made, play commenced with a little extra euro’s on top for the winner, as well as, of course, the trophy and eternal glory. Eventually, Klindrup had conquered the remaining for players and could reach his arms up to the sky – he won the Eureka Hamburg Cup and secured €23 310!

Next Stop: Cyprus

Even though the Eureka Hamburg Cup is finished, the Main Event as well as the High Roller will finish on October 3rd. After Hamburg bids farewell to the Eureka tour, the festival will have its next stop on Cyprus, October 12th-16th. Just like in Hamburg, a Main Event, a High Roller and an Eureka Cup event will be played. Good luck to all players competing on the Eureka Poker Tour!
