Once again Banco Casino has successfully completed an amazing event. This time it was the Cyprus Series of Poker which got added to the history books. A week full of great tournaments created a storm of players, all of whom found their way to Slovakia’s bustling capital. The €250 buy-in Main Event was won by Frenchman Guillaume Bessolles, who credited his account with €38,330 after a heads-up. There were also events such as the High-Roller, Mystery Bounty, MonsterStack, and a Farewell Turbo event. It can certainly be said that the organization can be satisfied with the turnout of this event.
Bessolles Takes Down Main Event
Frenchman Guillaume Bessolles managed to take the trophy to France, as he bested Danish Brian Klindrup in a short heads-up battle. Presumably, the reason for the shortness of the last battle was due to a deal they made just before that. At the moment when the discussion got opened about a deal, it was Klindrup with a massive 4:1 chip lead. It resulted in the following numbers:
Kindrup: €36.880
Bessolles: €30.890
Left to play: €7.440
As mentioned, soon after the deal a couple of big situations went towards the side of Bessolles, catapulting him suddenly in the lead. After a 3-bet preflop from Bessolles, it was then Klindrup who put all his chips into the middle, on which his opponent instantly made the call. The Frenchman Bessolles had the good with [Ax][Kx], and Klindrup could only show [Qx][9x] and needed help. On the flop, it was already decided as it showed two aces on the board. It left Klindrup short, which a hand later went towards Bessolles as well.
It was the second major title for the Frenchman, who won last year the Main Event of the African Poker Series, held in Mauritius. However, his win during the Cyprus Series of Poker Main Event is by far the biggest cash of his career. For Brian Klindrup it was his first real big cash in the live poker circuit, and he definitely should be very satisfied with his performance, despite the runner-up finish.
