An Interview With the Founder of Poker.pro Terje “Teddy” Bremseth

During my time at the world-class Bombay Club in the heart of the picturesque capital city of Tallinn, in Estonia, I have been fortunate enough to talk to the founder of poker.pro and all-around nice guy, Terje “Teddy” Bremseth. Here is what he had to say about The Bombay Club, his time here, and a bit about his company, poker.pro.

Q: You have mentioned that you have a preference and a fondness for The Bombay Club here in Tallinn. What is it about this venue that makes it world-class?

A: The mix between the pros and the VIPS, the stake, it’s a totally different experience. There’s a wine cellar, a cigar lounge; it’s a whole experience coming here. I haven’t seen anything like this anywhere else in Europe.

“The atmosphere is top, top, top, top, top. Everybody’s happy and smiling, even if they’re losing. The staff are great, here 24/7. Last year, I celebrated my birthday here; we had 120 people come. I really love this place, it’s become my favorite place to come and play. I will be coming back again in October for my birthday, we will have 300 plus people here for 10 days.”

Q: If you could host one event here at the Bombay Club, what game would be played, what structure and what would the buy in be?

A: That would be a €2,500 PLO5 Hyper Turbo like we did here last October. I like to see the buy in range from €2,500-€5,000, but alongside the high stake tournaments as well as it attracts the super pro regs, it attracts business people, and the reckless players who just want to spin up, they come and take a shot and we see that, the recreational players can beat the pros as the fields are smaller.

Q: Do you prefer the smaller field events to the big field tournaments?

Terje “Teddy” Bremseth

“I like the big fields also, but when the buy-ins are high I prefer smaller fields because it is easier to get into the money.”

Q: What is your favorite game to play and why?

A: PLO5, or PLO6 also. I love the variance. I’m a fish myself, and we like to see opportunities. You know, in No Limit Hold’em, one or two players win everything. If you play PLO5 or 6, anyone can make it to the f*cking cash desk”

Q: Tell me more about your company poker.pro, how it came to be, how it’s growing and your plans for the future?

A: Poker.pro is an online community and live community since 2007, and it has grown from the Balkan countries, Slovenia, Slovakia, Croatia, four or five years ago. We will take it outside of Europe to Latin America, the Caribbean, and expand into Asia as well. It is for the players by the players. We are focusing a lot on B2B and B2C with live reporting.

We are purely focused on poker, none of the casino sh*t, it’s a community for the players, for new players and old players, you don’t need to play for ten years to understand our content, its content for everyone to understand.
