Last weekend on 888poker, Australian pro Jonathan "monster_dong" Karamalikis took home the biggest payout by winning the $600 buy-in Sunday Whale.
This past weekend, he almost did it again.
With another impressive showing “monster_dong” almost repeated his win of the week before before coming up just short in the Baby Whale.
Meanwhile, 888poker Ambassador Chris Moorman was busy busting fellow pro Sofia Lövgren and a Canadian made two Top 10 finishes.
Karamalikis Does It Again – Almost
With just three weeks to go before the 888Live Barcelona Festival - and less than two weeks before the first XL Inferno series starts - the tables on 888poker were buzzing.
Only a week after Karamalikis won The Whale, he came second in the smaller buy-in version of that tournament, The Baby Whale.
Busted by Moorman.
Karamalikis went through a field of 325 players and could only be stopped by bigblindbets from the UK.
This finish was good for another $14.5k cash. Another nice score for Karamalikis, who also cashed in the $120k guaranteed Mega Deep.
bigblindbets added $19,350 to his 888poker bankroll.
The biggest cash of the weekend went to saiyajin1337 who persevered in a field of 624 players in The Whale and took $23.6k after 13 hours of play.
Moorman Stays Busy
Poker prodigy Chris Moorman has settled in pretty well in his new role as ambassador for 888poker. Last weekend he played in nine of the Sunday Majors and cashed in one of them.
He didn’t have much time the week before, though, as he was active in the 888Live Easter Edition at the Aspers Casino in London.
In the £440 main event he busted his fellow ambassador Sofia Lövgren in 30th place and then went on almost all the way to the final table, eventually finishing in 13th place.
Dominik Nitsche took a break from the 888poker tables as he was sporting the colors of 888 at the partypoker Millions at DTD in Nottingham.
Lövgren did play some of the Sunday Majors and cashed in the Deepstack Swordfish but couldn’t get deep enough to cover the buy-ins she paid.
PulledPorker Gets the Double
One player who showed particular skills on the weekend was PulledPorker. The Canadian player achieved the rare feat of making two Top 10 finishes in one night of MTT grinding.
First, PulledPorker finished ninth in the Sunday Crocodile before he moved on to get 10th place in the Mega Deep later that night.
Also catching attention was Roman romeopro33 Romanovskyi, who finished 19th in the Mega Deep and then finished off his poker night with a runner-up finish in the Early Monsoon.
Romanovskyi is a long-time regular on 888poker. He’s profited $30k or more for five of the last six years in this poker room alone.
