Ultimate Bet says Apple users will finally be able to log on to its poker software starting today.

Mac-users will get all the functionality and features that PC-users now have when they log on to Ultimate Bet. The upgrade is not browser-based and offers complete Mac compatibility for the current UB client.

"Our company strives to make our poker room accessible to as many people as possible and we recognize that Apple computers have a growing market share in the personal computing industry," explained Tokwiro CEO Paul Legget.

"In response to this trend we have developed an all-new downloadable poker application specifically for the Mac operating system."

The new software allows Mac poker players to take part in full-ring games, satellites, single-table tournaments, multi-table tournaments and blackjack.

Perhaps the biggest fan of the new software is Anthrax Guitarist Scott Ian, who is also a sponsored UB player.

"A few weeks back, I got the news I've been waiting for, UB for Mac is ready for beta testing," Ian said. "I immediately downloaded the application and I was up and running in no time.

"I'm a Mac nerd and most of my buddies also swear by Apple Mac; it's been a constant frustration trying to get them to buy virtual windows programs so they can play on UB. Well, no more virtual anything. It's UB Mac and it's kicking a**."

Along with the debut of Mac-compatible software, Ultimate Bet also rolled out a new No-Download Poker Games option, which allows both PC and Mac users to play at UltimateBet from any Internet browser.

Over the last few years, major sites like Full Tilt Poker, PokerStars, Absolute Poker and PartyPoker have all made their software compatible with Apple's OSX operating system.
