The Proust Questionnaire: Jonathan Duhamel
If you've run into Jonathan Duhamel some time in the last few years, you've likely come away thinking he's a guy pretty happy with where his life has taken him.
You'd be right. Very, very right.
Despite a few major bumps in the road, the 2010 WSOP Main Event champ is truly living his dream out on the international poker circuit.
Our colleague at PokerListings France, Fred Guillemot, caught up with Duhamel at a recent EPT stop for a round with the always-popular Proust Questionnaire.
Based on his answers it seems like the only way his life could be any better is if he was a flying hockey legend who partied a little less. So yeah. Good life.

PokerListings: If you were an animal, what would you be?
JD: I'd say a jaguar, just because I could run super fast.
PL: If you were a country?
JD: Spain. Barcelona is probably my favorite city in the world, I just love going there.
PL: If you were a city?
JD: Barcelona then.
PL: If you were a poker tournament?
JD: I think I just have to pick the World Series Main Event.
PL: If you were a card?
JD: The 8 of diamonds because of the hand I played against Matt Affleck in the Main Event 2010.
I got really lucky. There were about fifteen players left, I was all-in on the turn, ten outs, and I got that 8 of diamonds on the river, making me win a really big pot.
PL: If you were another famous person?
JD: I'd say Wayne Gretzky, the best hockey player in history.
PL: If you were another poker player?
JD: Probably Phil Ivey.
PL: If you were a movie?
JD: There's a movie I found pretty trippy, it's 300.
PL: If you were a sport?
JD: Ice hockey, obviously.
PL: Beside poker, what's your favorite addiction?
JD: Enjoying my life, always trying to have fun.
PL: What's your favorite song?
JD: It's My Life by Bon Jovi was really important to me when I was young and all rebellious.
PL: What's your favourite sound?
JD: The sound the waves make on the beach.
PL: And the one you hate?
JD: The sound the slots make, even though I have to hear it pretty often.
PL: What's your favorite quality in a woman?
JD: That she smiles a lot, that she's good-natured.
PL: And in a man?
PL: What's your main fault?
JD: I think I like parties a bit too much.
PL: What superpower would you like to have?
PL: What's your biggest fear?
JD: Having regrets.
PL: What do you hate the most?
JD: People who are two-faced.
PL: If you could change one thing about you, what would it be?
JD: I've learnt to love myself just as I am.
PL: If you hadn't become a poker player, what job would you have had?
JD: I wish I could have become a professional hockey player, but I wasn't quite good enough.
Otherwise, I think I would have liked to be my own boss, so I guess I would have set up some kind of business.
PL: What would you like to be reborn as?
JD: Like I said, I'm pretty happy with who I am. But well, let's go with Wayne Gretzky... again.
