The Big Game II airs in U.K. Wednesday
As the calendar flips from Wednesday to Thursday this week, poker fans in the United Kingdom will get their first glimpse of Poker Den: The Big Game II. The show begins airing at midnight on Wednesday and will run for eight weeks.
The Big Game II, which was sponsored by PartyPoker, is a 24-hour continuous cash game that was organized by Matchroom Sport and took place in East London last year. Most of the participants bought-in with $20,000 and all were free to leave the table at any time.
The players who entered the fray included Dave "Devilfish" Ulliott, Tony G, Roland de Wolfe, Brian Townsend, Jamie Gold, Thomas Bihl, Todd Brunson, Chris "Jesus" Ferguson, Robert Williamson III, Max Pescatori, Kirk Morrison, Hoyt Corkins, Pamela Brunson, Kasey Thompson, Ian Frazer, Roy Brindley, Ian Woodley and more.
"The blinds started low, but it took just 10 minutes for the first $20,000 pot to be won," said a PartyPoker spokesman. "The stakes were high and tempers were frayed as the big guns flexed their egos in London's most notorious back-street venue."
Calling the action and leading the commentary along with a selection of pros throughout the event will be Jesse May.

Last week, viewers in the United Kingdom were also treated to the finale of the inaugural PartyPoker Women's World Open. Beverly Pace, wife of comedian and poker player Norman Pace, beat Jen Mason to scoop the $50,000 top prize.
"I'm very happy," Pace said. "This is my first big win, and I intend to give myself a bankroll to play more tournaments for bigger stakes in the near future. I was pleased to beat Jen Mason. I have huge respect for her, and she has taught me a lot on the circuit."
Pace also commented that the women's tournaments are good for getting more females into the game.
"The standard is no different to a mixed-sex game, but they do encourage some to come forward who wouldn't do so otherwise," she said.
Tonight poker fans can see one of the game's strongest young female players take to the felt in PartyPoker Late Night Poker. The heat airing tonight, starting at 12:10 a.m. (GMT) on Channel 4 in the United Kingdom, features Annette Obrestad, Jon Kalmar, Robert Williamson III, Marcel Luske, Surinder Sunar, Kourosh and Henric Olander.
