Atlantic City is the next stop on the World Series of Poker Circuit (WSOPC), and the action is already underway in the Palladium Ballroom at Caesars. A whopping 1,106 people entered the opening $300 No-Limit Texas Hold'em event, and even more players are expected for upcoming tournaments.
The only time a WSOPC event has seen more entrants was in January 2007 when 1,345 people played in a tournament at the Grand Tunica Resort in Mississippi. There is a good chance a new record will be set when another $300 No-Limit Hold'em tourney is hosted in the Palladium Ballroom on Saturday.
Paul A. Natello, Director of Table Games at Caesars, is excited about the great interest for the WSOPC event.
"We are absolutely thrilled to see so many poker players come from all over and join with us. I look around this room and I see many players who are relatively new to poker as well as some top players who have won major tournaments," said Natello.
"The beauty of the World Series of Poker and this year's Circuit event is they can all compete here equally at Caesars Atlantic City and have a chance to win."
