Playboy Enterprises, Inc. has joined with Moneymaker Gaming to develop and produce the Playboy Poker Camp. The camp will include instruction from professional poker players as well as nightly poker tournaments, events with Playboy Playmates, and a party at the Playboy Mansion.
"Chris Moneymaker has built the strongest brand in poker today, and we're thrilled to team up with him to create an incredible poker camp such as this," said Sarah Haney, Playboy Enterprises, Inc. licensing vice president. "We've enjoyed such success with out co-branded poker products that we wanted to bring something more to the table for poker aficionados everywhere."
The camp is four days and four nights with instruction for beginners to advanced players from pros like World Series of Poker champion Layne Flack and Jim Worth, the "Krazy Kanuck." The first camp will take place January 2007 at the Morongo Casino Resort and Spa near Palm Springs, Calif.
Cost for the camp starts at $4,999, and registration begins today at www.playboypokercamp.com.
"I've been living a dream since winning the 2003 World Series, and I want to give my fans a taste of that," said Moneymaker, co-founder of Moneymaker Gaming. "Playboy Poker Camp will offer a once in a lifetime chance to play alongside the best players in the world, hang out with Playboy Playmates, and compete for more than $100,000 in prize money. This will be the ultimate poker experience."
This new venture isn't the first time Moneymaker has paired up with Playboy to promote poker. Last year he recently joined forces with Playboy Enterprises, Inc. to develop a line of poker retail products.
