2010 LA Poker Open champ Kwinsee Khoa Tran.

A 37-year-old Mortgage broker from Orange County, California took down Commerce Casino's LA Poker Open finale.

Kwinsee Khoa Tran, who says he spends about 80% of his time playing poker these days, collected $178,830 for the win, bringing his career total up and over the $650,000 mark.

Names like Matt Affleck, Kevin Saul, Sorel Mizzi, Phil Laak, Men Nguyen and Sam Stein all entered the event, but a Los Angeles local came out on top at Commerce Casino.

"Once again it's been proven that the local players can compete with the best in the world at Commerce," said Tournament Director Matt Savage.

"Kwinsee had quite a roller coaster ride to the title, proving that playing in smaller events is a great way to prepare for major championships. With this victory he has truly graduated to the next level."

Commerce Casino's LA Poker Open awarded more than $1.3 million over the course of 18 events. Next up at Commerce is the LA Poker Classic Jan. 19- Mar. 3.
