Hollywood actor reveals online moniker, claims UltimateBet's $1 Million Tourney

As reported by PokerListings.com last week, UltimateBet's $1 Million Guaranteed Tournament, held on Sunday, January 15, was won by online player, hhubert. It now appears hhubert is none other than Hollywood actor Joe Reitman who has appeared in "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back," "The Perfect Storm," and "Clueless," among many other productions.

Known previously in the poker world as a poker enthusiast and Annie Duke's boyfriend, Reitman has carved out a name for himself à la Jennifer Tilly. In the UltimateBet $1 Million Guaranteed Tournament earlier this month, Reitman championed a field of 2,773 players over the course of 14 hours to collect more than $266,000 in first place winnings, along with a 2006 World Series of Poker Main Event prize package worth $12,000.

Reitman said of his win, "I couldn't believe it. The competition was intense, but I played well and got lucky enough to make it to the final table and eventually win the whole thing." Reitman has been playing poker for a number of years. He has competed in numerous tournaments and frequently logs online to play at UltimateBet. This was his first major tournament win.

The actor's romantic involvement with world-class poker pro, Annie Duke, has admittedly helped his game. "Having Annie around doesn't hurt either," says Reitman. "Since Annie started teaching me how to play like a pro, my game has improved ten-fold."

Aside from playing poker, Reitman will spend 2006 promoting a number of his films, including "Bandidas," in which he stars with Penelope Cruz and Salma Hayek, and M. Night Shyamalan's upcoming film "Lady in the Water." Reitman is also a producer on Annie Duke's new poker series, "Annie Duke Takes on the World," which is scheduled to air this May on GSN.
