Devilfish hosts U.K. poker show

David Ulliott made his debut as a poker show host this past week in the United Kingdom with the premier of How to Become a Poker Millionaire on ITV in Wales.

The show debuted last week with the Devilfish evaluating the participants on the show. The show will feature poker novices whom Ulliott will put through intense poker training over the course of four episodes.

The players had to prove their abilities last week, and now they'll go online and play for real money. Not only will Ulliott give them tips and training to help them along, he'll be giving them money from his own bankroll to play with online as they learn.

According to Red and Black Films, the creator of How to Become a Poker Millionaire, part of the groundbreaking nature of the show is that it is not only a reality show about players learning better poker skills, it also has a game show element that will leave one lucky winner at the end of the four episodes.

The show consists of four losing players who are trained for more than a month to play like professionals by Ulliott. Then they will play each other and be eliminated one by one each episode.

The last person standing will get the bankrolls all the players have accumulated plus a seat in the next World Series of Poker Main Event in Las Vegas.

Ulliott certainly has the credentials to teach them the ropes. Through his poker career he's accumulated more than $5 million in tournament winnings. He also has one WSOP bracelet win as well as a WPT win on his poker resume.

The show also includes interviews with other top poker pros from around the world lending their advice and poker wisdom.

The next episode of the show will air Thursday, Sept. 11.
