1) Testosterone Bad for Poker

Calling station?

Ever won a massive pot by over-betting the river against an alpha-male type?

We’ve all been there and apparently science backs it up.

A recent study published by journal Nature makes the argument that testosterone is bad for playing poker.

Interestingly participants that were given higher levels of testosterone were actually less likely to make huge bluffs but tended to turn into calling stations.

The title of the study is Effects of Testosterone Administration on Strategic Gambling in Poker Play and you can actually check out the entire thing here.

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again:

It’s probably the best idea to leave ego at the door when you sit down at a poker table.

2) New $1m Cristiano Ronaldo Spin & Go's

Want to live like Cristiano Ronaldo?

Real-life spin and go.

That’s what PokerStars is offering in their new Ronaldo-branded $1m Spin & Go’s.

The promo is simple. You enter any Spin & Go that’s $.50 or higher and you’re entered into a chance to randomly play for $1m (2,000,0000 times your buy-in!).

Cash isn’t the only thing up for grabs, however, and the second most valuable prize you can win is your choice of supercar. Your options:

  • McLaren 650S
  • Ferrari California T
  • Lamborghini Huracan
  • Aston Vanquish

Pretty sick.

Some of the other Ronaldo-esque prizes include a TAG Heuer CR7 Watch, ROC Platinum headphones or Ronaldo DVDs.

Expect to see a number of TV ads featuring Ronaldo’s new Spin & Go’s shortly.

3) Somerville Begins Streamfest from PCA

He’s back.

The most prominent poker Twitch streamer in the world is once against live on his RunItUp account.

We’re talking about Jason Somerville of course. He booted up the old Twitch account as a warm-up for his upcoming PCA stream that will run from Jan. 8-14.

Basically if you’re looking for in-depth PCA coverage with Somerville’s signature flair then you’ll want to keep it locked to the following Twitch stream:
