Daily 3-Bet: Mighty Dan Colman, Griff Gets Green, SHRB 2 NBC
The PokerListings Daily 3-Bet is a baby face, a mercurial metabolism and nothing stopping your meteoric rise up the afternoon poker news money ladder.
Have something you want featured in a future 3-Bet? Let us know in the comments below.
Today in the 3-Bet we find another blistering performance from Dan Colman, Griffin Benger dips in the Irish Spring and the Super High Roller Bowl hits NBC.
1) Colman = 2nd and Climbing
How good at the pokers is Dan Colman? Already the possessor of one of the greatest runs in poker history Colman just continues to crush poker three years later.
Did you know he's now 2nd on the all-time live poker money list for the United States - in more or less 3 years of (notable) cashes?
Let that sink in for a bit. He was born in 1990. And his first 'big' cash came in 2014.
With $27.9m in earnings he sits only behind Erik Seidel with $31.5m (and Negreanu at $32.8m overall). That's absurd.
Yes, he won a lot ($15m) in the Big One. But Negreanu also earned $8.2m in that one. And Colman's earned another $2m alone in 2017 so far.
He's about to get some more. Colman is chip leader heading into the final table of the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown with $661,283 up top for the winner.
He'll have to get by Tony Sinishtaj, Darryl Fish, Simeon Naydenov and Robert Mizrachi to get it, sure. But if he doesn't finish 1 or 2 it'll be a shocker.
Follow along with the WPT Live Updates here or watch the live stream with hole cards on 30-minute delay on Wednesday starting at 11 pm ET.
2) Griffin Goes Green
Speaking of final-table live streams worth tuning in for the 2017 Irish Open final table is playing out right now in Dublin with at least one very familiar face front and center.
He was absolutely crushing just a short time ago but had the wind drawn from his sails slightly by a horrific suckout. He's still battling with 3 players left, though, and you can watch it all below with commentary from Irish poker legend Padraig Parkinson:
3) 2017 Aria Super High Roller Bowl Goes to NBC
Has the $300,000 buy-in Super High Roller Bowl at Aria superseded the WSOP Main Event as poker's "must-watch" summer event?
That might be a stretch but it's hard to argue it's not gaining ground very, very quickly as the buzz around this year's SHRB is already reaching fever pitch.
With a sellout 56-player field, $6m up top for the winner and thrill-a-minute names like Leon Tsoukernik, Tony G. and Fedor Holz in the mix, TV execs are taking notice.
Poker Central announced today it has signed a new multi-event deal with the NBC Sports Network that will start with coverage of this year's SHRB.
NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app will also provide streaming coverage for Poker Central content with action debuting on NBCSN on Monday nights this summer.
